Hey there! My name's Biz and I'm currently in college at Purdue University in Indiana majoring in Psychology and minoring in Theatre and creative writing. I'm Neurotypical and I'm a very social and outgoing person. I found Wrong Planet by doing some Wikipedia research on Asperger's because my boyfriend was diagnosed with it and I want to learn more about it from actual people with Asperger's instead of reading an article or a book.

So, hello there everyone! I'm not sure exactly what else to say. I'm into reading, writing, theatre, painting, movies, snowboarding, camping, cooking, my cat Dozer, activism, and trying new things. Okay, I feel like a dork talking about myself so that's all I have to say for now :-)

Welcome!
learning from others who have Asperger's is usually the best way.

thanks :-) Just reading through a bunch of the threads over the last few hours has given me a lot of insight. Man, it's crazy how many things you never think about or notice when they don't affect you. Kinda makes me feel like an as*hole for being so uninformed o.O

I agree forums such as WP provide a far better insight into AS than text books. I could not readily identify with the condition when described in books, but I've found so much in common with people here.

Yeah, and because it's a spectrum disorder not all of the symptoms describe each individual and differences can manifest in infinite ways. Reading about the disorder helps, yeah, but just reading things that everyone on here says (problems, solutions, opinions, support for one another) reminds me of how my boyfriend thinks and functions and it's great to feel like he's not alone in living as an aspie :-)
