Why are you here? I've been feeling very excluded from society. I wanted to find people I can relate to.

When were you diagnosed? (skip if you don't have a disorder): 19.

Favorite subjects: Astronomy or anything related to science or technology.

Year/Grade: Graduated from high school in 2004 and will graduate with my Bachelors next year.

Favorite music: Jazz, oldies, classic rock, or anything instrumental.

Books: Scifi, fantasy, or non-fiction books.

TV shows/Movies: I hate TV and movies.

Instrument: Piano, djembe.

Do you like sports? I hate watching sports. I used to skateboard and surf but now I don't do much.

Family: My little brother is also an Aspie.

Job: Been working in IT at the same place for almost 5 years.

Plans for the future? My husband and I might have a second child in the near future. Other than that, I'll be getting my BSIT/ Software Engineering next year then will apply for grad school in hopes of earning a PhD in Physics some day. We hope to move to a different state soon too. I hate the city.

Hobbies and Interests: These days, watching a lot of baseball. Also reading, collecting public transit route maps, and playing silly online trivia games.

Why are you here? I have a very hard time dealing with the reality of living where I'm living, in particular the strange unwritten codes of behavior, and no one I know in real life who's older than about 18 understands that.

When were you diagnosed? Never was officially. Granted, I doubt that someone in rural Minnesota in 1987 would have known anything about it, and that's when they first suspected that I was different in some way.

Favorite subjects: Law. Geography.

Year/Grade: One L in September. Graduated from high school in 2000 and college (University of Chicago) in 2005.

Favorite music: A lot of progressive rock bands, especially Pink Floyd, but also groups like Jethro Tull and things of that nature.

Books: I pull whatever catches my eye off the non-fiction shelves in the library--recently it's been a lot of books related to the law. I don't read much fiction--when I do, I prefer science fiction that proposes interesting world views or interesting fictional rules rather than being primarily character-driven (which I can't really follow). My favorite novel is "Mockingbird" by Walter Tevis, who also wrote "The Man Who Fell to Earth," which sums up how I feel pretty well.

TV shows/Movies: A lot of documentary films. I like the work of Frederick Wiseman a lot. Cooking shows. As far as fictional stuff goes, mostly police procedurals. I'm a huge "Da Vinci's Inquest" fan. I never missed an episode of "Quantum Leap" when I was younger.

Instrument: Harmonica.

Do you like sports? I enjoy going to baseball games, although
sometimes the crowds and loud noises really make me panic. I don't really like watching baseball on TV because I can't stand the announcers' idiotic banter.

Family: I'm not married and I don't have any children.

Clothing: Whatever's clean. I do have a neat collection of t-shirts with pictures of economists on them I like to wear sometimes.

Why are you here? I'm not quite sure yet. I've been quite active in a German Asperger's forum a a while ago, but then didn't like it anymore. Now, I looked at this site again and thought I'd just register an account and let things come. It might also have something to do with the fact that I'm in some sort of crisis right now, though that isn't directly related to Autism.

When were you diagnosed? Some years ago, 2007 I think.

Favorite subjects: That always depended on the teacher and topic. I always liked natural sciences (except math), but in the last years of school also music, history and philosophy.

Year/Grade: Well, I'm done with regular school and just quit my first study after two semesters. Will -hopefully- start a new one in October, though.

Favorite music: Though I'm quite picky on what bands and artists I listen to, there's hardly any genre that I dislike completely. Music is my life, so ask me for details if you're interested! I'm also on last.fm.

Books: I don't get to read as much as I'd like to because I mostly miss the leisure for it. But I really like anything SciFi, like Star Wars books or the Hitchhiker's guide.

TV shows/Movies: iCarly, Spongebob, Home Improvement / Matrix, Star Wars, Das Boot, Ice Age

Instrument: Drums! I could also be at least an "okay" keyboardist and singer, would I ever practise.

Plans for the future? I'd love to work as and independent artist of some sort and make enough money to live properly. I'm not into luxuries, but I have expensive hobbies and I'd like to be able to buy more organic food. And put money into things I find worth supporting.

Any comments? While people with Autism are different, I often tend to believe that I'm "more different".
