New to this place. Just rather doing some research on whats wrong with me these days. Suffered a nervous breakdown after some traumatic events and having to deal with people of poor character. Doctor thinks if I also have this disorder it could explain why I'm taking so long to recover(no idea how?). It's been 8 months for a time frame. I've gone from not being able to make toast, eggs in the appropriate manors or desired steps to doing those things in short bursts. I used to ask for supervision when I attempted tasks. Still have trouble driving. I've sorta been diagnosed with everything under the Anxiety 300 category. OCD is a huge one that actually makes sense to me now.

Might also mention that early in life the doctors repeatedly tried to diagnose me with adhd but couldn't and therefore never had medicine applied. I assume it's due to a super fast learning ability. I recall glancing over books before tests and sometimes learning items from the exams. Never really studied. Sometimes did homework on test night.

I really don't know if AS is me. I've gone on a lot of sites where there are a lot of 'pretenders'. I suppose it relates to peoples empathy. I tell people I had a nervous breakdown and so they think they've had one too at some point. Trust me if you think you might have had it, you didn't. So then I just tell people I'm crazy. No one thinks they might have had crazy.

Greetings 8)
I'm new here too - brand new as of ten minutes ago.
Just thought I'd say hi to you as well as piggyback on your post.
I have only the vaguest glimmerings of what psych evaluations mean because I've never been for one. But having read the descriptions of Aspergers Syndrome, I took a test on the internet and the assessment was mild Aspergers Syndrome.
Hope you and I will like it here !

Thank you Tim ...
I see we already have King Of The Hill in common ~
And, judging from your FB profile, respect for a certain TX legislator as well.

Thanks! These boards seem kinda fun. Lots of people with similar problems I had at one time.

Agreed. And look: you've already changed into a butterfly [right there underneath your name].

I noticed you edited your initial post; I have OCD too, in my case it's about shutting/sealing things (the bag of coffee, the cat food, tops on things, etc.) ~

Wow, butterfly! lol. Thanks for pointing it out. My OCD seems similar to others on here. I tend to study different things such as. Mating habits of exotic fish, blue heelers, ecosystems, computer hardware. A few days ago I studied electric razers and finally picked one out of the bunch after 3 days.

Maybe a bit of obsession with regard to the razors ...but the other interests don't seem very extreme to me.

Ok, finally saw a decent psychiatrist and got a very decent diagnosis explained in detail. I've got a type of depression. I'm not actually depressed but the chemicals in my brain are stuck that way for the time being. As for the test results, of course I scored high on those right now according to the doctor. Just remember a self diagnosis is not a replacement for a doctor to figure it out. If you can find a good one.
