Officially Self-diagnosed Aspie here, starting on the path to be diagnosed (I've got a neurologist's name and number I need to call sometime during working hours). And, a follower of Christ. Due to my researching everything I consider interesting, and my throughly read-through Bibles, I cannot say I'm a Christian because "Christian" is synomonous with "church goer" in today's language, of which I no longer am.
Yea, I know "Jesus said not to give up meeting together." And I don't. Not outside of a "church setting" it's just that a lot of the churches I have tried to attend are very clique-ish and legalistic, neither of which I can take. If you are truly a Son/Daughter of God, you are my friend and sibling in Christ and I'd love to chat... I just can't make it in a church setting... and I'm thinking my very likely having asperger's probably doesn't help that at all.
Other than not going to church, there are a few other legalities that most congregations follow that I disagree with, but the core of my faith, is the same I think. Jesus is my Lord and Savior and Friend. Without Him I'd be litterally nothing.
