Hello everyone, my name is Jay. I was finally diagnosed with Asperger's this past year but had to go through the first quarter century without any help at all. I also have Clinical Depression and possibly Schizoaffective disorder. I used to be very antisocial but am more outgoing now, though I still have difficulties socially. Until I started to study Asperger's, I could never put a finger on how my mind worked. When I was young, I distrusted both my peers and my parents, teachers, and especially the psychologists and psycharitrists that were supposed to be helping me. I had to make it on my own mentally. Now that I am aware of what being Aspie is all about, I embrace it. Right now, I am starting to work on a science fiction novel in which the main character has Asperger's Syndrome and will essentially be from his perspective. The story will eventually getting more complicated fromt there. This is my attempt to show to the world how I have felt all my life, as well as most of you I would imagine. I would love to chat with any of you so feel free to contact me. I would love to discuss anything with you, so I hope to hear from you soon!

I hope you decide to publish, that sounds like a fun read. :) I'm pretty proud, though I dislike that word, of being an aspie myself.

And welcome!

You are the third 20 something new person I have ran into in the past 2 days on here
Who is either just finding out about it or just getting diagnosed
My therapist couldnt see the signs in me because I have adapted in 26 years
And I didnt get the diagnosis
But since joining I have heard my storyline repeated over and over again
With a little personal flair but close enough to mine
When I first started my studies and even now
I found I wanted to write literature to bring to schools
Nobody knows about AS
And I feel like I might have had an easier time adjusting had it been seen
But like you I hated going to therapists
And I would just put on a frown and not say anything
So thats why its so hard to catch
I would love to read that novel
And I hope it can help others find themselves

Well that is why I wish to write this book. I would love to tell the storyline but I feel safer by not posting it on the Internet like this. But I will say this: the main character will be very similar to me and other Aspies but that will be only the beginning. Eventually, the story delves into all of society itself and what EVERYBODY (and I mean the whole world here) is feeling like today. In addition to just being what it was like as Aspie, I am also going to go into a lot of things about modern life in recent years so that it can be something everyone can relate to in general. I am sure you are all very frustrated by society and this so called idea of "normal" which is forced on us at every level, so this is my way of saying what it is rally like to the world and remind them that "normal" doesn't exist. But I would love to discuss anything with you so feel free to message me if your curious.

I know this might seem like self promotion
Its not
I love that sci fi warns about the future but its really about whats happening now
I started this thread
http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt147490.html
Its a theory post
And I talked about that in there
But maybe youd like to check out what other people say
And even post
Your brain seems like mine
This sounds lame and I hate saying it
But
Lets be wrongplanet friends
I too am new
And I have many questions

Also if youve never seen it before
Watch Heroes(at least season one)
That show made me happy to be an Aspie
I discovered it midway through my Aspie Identity Crisis
Its about Neurodiversities and there is a very Aspie feel to it

Well, I am glad other people feel the same:) I know how frustrating society is to people with our neural set-up. Therefore I am writing this book to show what it was REALLY like growing up and Aspie and just how ridiculous it was for everybody who grew in recent decades in general. To be totally honest, I cannot begin to explain how relieving it is to just sit down and write this out and get out my feelings. But for everyone who feels the same way I do: don't give up, because in the long run, if we be who we want and succeed and the so called NT go on the path their on now, who will come out on top in life? I want to show to the world how being NT can be so destructive at times and how people, especially doctors and psychologists force you into "normal" and then tell you you are wrong. I want my work to explain how the people who are supposed to help guide you are hurting you so much and why young people, regardless of neuro set-up, are so apathetic. This book will therefore be a huge sociopolitical commentary on modern life. I would love to tell you the plot line but as I said I don't want anyone potentially stealing it so I will just tyr to generalize.

I'm proud to have AS because I really like the life of having the same old routine day after day after day. I absolutely do not prefer to change my routine in any way unless I really feel like it.
