Hi, everyone. I was diagnosed with Asperger's not too long ago. As I'm prone to do, I immediately scoured the library and Internet for websites, studies, etc. so that I could learn more about it. I'm still reading about it and learning, but I can't believe I wasn't diagnosed (either self-diagnosed or by a doctor) before now. Everything fits so perfectly.
Being diagnosed didn't really change anything for me, but it put in perspective why I "thought differently" than everyone else. I thought maybe I just had a different background or different experiences or a different upbringing than most people. I kept seeing WrongPlanet come up when I was researching and I finally feel I'm ready to post and introduce myself and see what's up.
As a little background, I live in Southeastern Ohio. I'm 26-years-old. I work IT for a university, mostly help desk/general support with some active directory, network and server management responsibilities. I have four dachshunds that I really love. I like comic books, literature, video games, web design and cooking. My music tastes are fairly broad but lean toward punk and hip-hop. I like to obsessively research things.
Anyway, I'm really excited to find a community that I might empathize with a little more. Thanks!
