Hi there
I'm Fi, mum to 3 lovely children. I live in New Zealand.
My DS has just turned 5, he was diagnosed at 3.5 with moderate classic autism and anxiety. He is a lovely wee fella, but life is somewhat challenging at the moment. He has just started school and goes part-time.
I have a 3 year old DD, she's neurotypical from what we can tell, she's delightful and in some ways harder to parent than my autisitc child (she doesn't live by rules!)
I also have a baby DD, she is 3 months old, and just a delight. Thankfully she is a placid baby who just fits in with the family. She is very bright and alert and doesn't sleep a whole lot during the day, but at least she is happy
I am married to a wonderful man who was diagnosed with aspergers last year, we have known for a long time that something was *different* about him, and now we know what. he's very high functioning, very talented with music, but we are definately finding things a struggle at the moment. parenting does not come easily to him.

I myself am NT, but I find myself surrounded by this autisic world and i'm just trying to do the best for my family. I'm hoping to learn more about the world of autism by joining this forum. thanks.
