Hobbies and Interests: Reptiles (mostly snakes and geckos), longboarding (just got a board 2 days ago. been eating a lot of pavement so to speak. =D), writing (poetry, stories), reading (fiction and anything dealing with reptiles), shiny objects, collecting obsidian (i want to invest in a rock tumbler =]), music (listening to and writing), instruments (can play:clarinet, oboe, saxophone, piano, guitar, snare drum. have not yet attempted: cello, bassoon, violin, full drumset.)

Why are you here? Why not? I came here because I'd heard the word "Asperger's" used to describe me, looked it up, and though "Heeeey, sounds familiar.". Since then I have dated someone with AS (not BECAUSE of that, I found out that he has it after the fact), had school counselors say that I probably have it, and been told by a professional pez dispensor that I needed to be evaluated for it immediately, but I couldn't afford it. Also...you know. Making some friends over the internet sounded like a good idea at the time.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I was diagnosed with a severe panic disorder in...2009? I have not been officially diagnosed with AS, it is merely suspected by...quite a few people.

Favorite subjects: Science, Band, English, Art (not that I ever took it, but I hung around in the class), Drama (never took it either, but I liked to "annoy" the teacher.).

Favorite music: All music. Whatever makes my heart do that jumppy thing and makes me have to pace for a second before it stops. Weirdo reaction, I know.

best hobby is my family, i have an NT wife, 16 years married, and two wonderful humans 9 and 7. They are male and female

I am here to meet new friends and learn about me.. I have been clinically labeled way too many things to list, boring, I educated myself about the spectrum. for 41 years i thought i was broken or damaged due to the loud love from family wanting to help me. 37 days ago I realized, I am who I am. I do not have autism, it is part of me. I am home..I hate people who ask me "whats up?" the sky, the clouds, airplane, I know they mean "what are you doing?" but I only know that since i am looking at them and reading their body language and energy and MUST know what they mean and not listen to what they say. I am generalizing about They. I think they need to pay attention to vocabulary usage. ret*ds:)

diagnosed - bipolar, manic, ocd, depressed, major, minor, addict(I really get into things, you know what i mean, am i addicted or do i just really like it and am ocd? whatever doc, suckit!! personal diagnosis about 35 days ago when i met an 11 year old "special needs" child who is autistic. She taught me:)

favorite subject - life - i have soo many interests and have learned to do and be so many things. I am ready for anything as they say where i am from, most NTs think i am ready for ? I am ready to make a new friend, learn something new, listen, oh by the way, if you are mean to me or anyone around me, i am also ready to ask you to stop too many times and will unwillingly make you go away. I am kind of a tough guy(only outside, please please someone get that) In my opinion, much of the world is mean, so buyer beware here. I detest violence of any kind. I am soo peaceful, just happen to be built like a little truck.

education - four year degree from seattle university in social work, rehabiliation counselor for kids in jail for five years then to New york city to see what the big apple had for my family.

favorite music - good beat, i love marine running cadence, my nt wife hates it, does not get it like i do, i hear 50 strong hard working honest couragous committed humans working at being in the best shape they can. it makes me feel safe, i know many folks like that, that music comforts me. i also like gospel, inspirational gospel.

job - many jobs, volunteer at my kids Kind through 6 grade school at recess to help them be active and have fun...really my daughter told me a boy was bullying her on the playground so guess who now heads up the recess patrol program? You betcha, alot more fun nowadays and i see my kids, i work with kids in several school districts unique and regular, boring i mean. i worked with our group before i knew i was one..how odd.

I just met carl today on the phone, wonderfully articulate in email, a bit different on the phone but i understood him. He is an amazing human. I will meet him next saturday at a meeting group called square pegs. how fun, this all so new but i have lived it forever. i am happy to not be alone. I realize i am wierd and probably posted this stupid thing wrong, i really want to email or talk with anyone:) even if email. please dont take my stat of 41 years or male be offputting. inside i am still a little nervous boy who pees my pants when people lie or are mean to me.
