Hello,
I discovered this site when researching Asperger's as my husband of 3 years (28 years old) and my son (2 1/2 years old) both are newly diagnosed. We are definitely a neurodiverse family as I have been diagnosed with bipolar d/o for 15 years. We also have a 12 week old son. I am looking for others who may have a spouse with Asperger's and a child with Asperger's to exchange information and just discuss what life is like in a neurodiverse family.

Take care :D

Hello,
I read your post and I can somewhat relate....... My husband is newly diagnosed he is 34. We have a 2 1/2 year old daughter but I'm not sure if she has it but I worry about it. I would like to exchange info because I don't know about you but I'm having a hard time with it.

I can relate to both of you. My son was diagnosed with Asperger's when he was 5 years old (now he is 13) and my husband has it too but not diagnosed. I suspect our 17-year old daughter does too but very mild. I also think I am border line bipolar due to my mood swings. I work with children with Asperger's (got into the field 4 years ago). Life can be challenging for us but we learned what works and what doesn't. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Hello, my family is similar to yours. My wife was diagnosed bipolar about 3 years ago (battle depression all her life). Our son was diagnosed with AS around that same time, he is now 7. myself at age 35 is becoming aware of my aspie traits and consider myself AS. We also has a 6 year old daughtor who has a motor planing disorder. Our family life has been a bit rough. My aspie way of thinking has upset my wife lots of time. Being self aware has been the best for me, but fixing it has been hard. Our son sets the mood of the household. But what ever happens or how hard it gets I am not going give up!
