Hi,

It felt a bit creepy just lurking, so thought I would say hi.

I'm a 31 year old male currently living in a remote area of Western Australia for work.

A quick summary of how I ended up a smoking mess..."different" all of my life, very few friends in my youth, no friends in adult life, misdiagnosed in my teen years with depression, poor relationships with women, one long string of rejection by others, diagnosed with sleep apnea and narcolepsy last year, been sitting in my car in isolated spots at night lately wondering why I can't hook the hose up and sleep peacefully (please suppress the need to talk about this...no concern required...seems there is a hardwired biological circuit preventing this that would require some tricky mental gymnastics to circumvent...guess I can sink further yet).

Here I am...just wanted to see if there are truly others like me. Carry on ;)

Welcome Lonely1 (which you're not in here! :) ), you certainly have come to the right place, among your species here. :D Depression and anxiety are common with AS, typically side effects of having to deal with an "alien" world. As for your survival instinct, that's a good thing, I'm a bit the same, and if I looked like going too far downhill, I looked around for a hand to help me up.

Pull up a chair, you're among friends! :)

I'm Australian.

It's cold, cept it stopped raining. That's good.
Robertson got some snow which is close to where I live. We just got the wind from it, no snow. :(

I'm officially from Burra, South Australia (about 2 hours North of Adelaide), but I live in York, UK... sometimes I really miss Burra and Adelaide (I spent A LOT of time in Adelaide, for boarding school).

Hello,

I just introduced myself under G'Day, "getting to know" etc...........

G'Day to the Aussies on line.

It looks like quite a few people are here. It's nice that everyone can communicate with each other.

Will be in contact

Well maybe support groups would have been better.

In general how have Australian ASD-folk found support in their respective areas.

It would be good to find out what's available for people.

What does everyone else have?

All the best!

Hello MattD,

I know Mikako-san. I think the group met at Tugun before.
Mikako-san is very good.

Let's keep in contact MattD. It's good to know someone local is also on Wrong Planet.

I have been invited to be a guest speaker on the Coast later in the year. We could meet if you wish?

All the very best for now!

I might be interested in meeting.
You could attempt to organize a meet-up in this thread.
