What is your first name?: It's not my real name, but Niiu should do.

Age: 19 years.

Location: Europe.

Hobbies and interests: Doing maths, sudoku and kakuro, tinkering with things, etc.

Why are you here?: I'm trying to figure some things out, I guess. It seemed like a good next step to me.

When were you diagnosed?: I haven't been diagnosed officially.

Favorite subjects: Mathematics, informatics (computer science), physics, English, German, art. Whenever I wasn't breaking all the bones in my body, sports class was also fun.

Year/Grade: I'm in the first year of a mathematics college.

Favorite Music: There's several different kinds of music I fancy, although I'm picky. I can say I like Tool and A Perfect Circle, along with some types of celtic music, trance, dubstep, industrial, etc.

Books: Programming, mathematics, physics, history, psychology books and dictionaries, along with various encyclopedias and manga books.

Television Shows: The Big Bang Theory, Scrubs, House MD, NCIS, some cartoons (Justice League Unlimited, Young Justice, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, etc.) and animes (Trigun, One Piece, Junjo Romantica, Dragon Ball, etc.) as well as shows on Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.

Movies: Paul (2011), Shaun of the Dead (2004), Invention of Lying (2009), Sabrina (both, the 1954 and 1995 version), Alien vs. Predator (2004 and 2007), Predator (1987), Predators (2010) and several others.

Instruments: Officially, the piano and drum kit. It's easy enough to pick up a fair amount of instruments and improvise, though. That, I've been able to do on a violin, flute and guitar so far.

Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: I do like sports in general, although I'm not exactly the type of person to sit in front of the telly every second day in order to get a glimpse of sweating men in shorts competing against each other. When I was younger, I used to do iaido, kendo, karate and shooting (the kind with a gun), if that counts as anything.

Family: I've an older sister and both parents are still alive.

Clothing: I don't have a set fashion liking. My wardrobe is a mix of different styles. As long as I like how it looks like and it's comfortable, it works for me.

How did you find this website?: Through Google. I was looking at articles about autism.

Job: Nothing at the moment, although I'm hoping to end up at a university as a ''research scientist'' (preferably in the mathematics and physics department).

Plans for the future?: Getting a PhD in mathematics and graduating with a computer science degree. After that, most likely getting another diploma, either that of physics or two of my foreign languages. Hopefully learning at least three more at some point, as well.

Any comments?: Sorry about the length. It's most likely too detailed, as well. I tried not to write an entire novel. Yes, it could actually be worse than that.

What is your first name? Let's stick with Katan

Age: Hmm... does anyone see where is says how old I am? I tend to forget. Oh yeah, 35.

Location: At my desk.

Hobbies and Interests: I guess that depends on what you mean by hobbies and interests. Working with the deffinition provided by wikipedia I don't know if I have any hobbies. My days tend to blur together and I frequently have no idea what day or time it is which makes it hard to have "leisure time." But I guess you could say playing video games, listening to music, or whatever "shiny" thing comes along to take me away from what I'm doing at the moment.

Why are you here? Because it's 3:47 am and I'm still not tired despite being up for 20 hrs.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): That's a bit tricky. I self diagnosed sometime (again, time doesn't seem to be a factor in my world). When I mentioned Asperger's to a councilor I was seeing for my ADHD he seemed excited or something. As I continued to research what I call the cousin diagnosees for ADHD my wife asked me why I was still doing that when I already had "confirmation".... So, I guess I didn't pick up that my councilor was agreeing with me (and jeolous, I was later told, that I diagnosed myself before he did) that I had Aspergers as well. But I think that all took place within the last 2? 4? maybe 6? months. I've been self/officially diagnosed with ADHD for about 3 yrs and love that medication has lifted the fog I was always in (fog=eternally bored out of my mind and unable to stay focused on anything and just doing my best to stay awake) I still get bored... I can just manage it better now.

Favorite subjects: Learning (until I get bored and something else interests me.. which is usually another learning topic)... if we're talking favorite subjects in school... well.. school was either really hard or really boring.. depending on the subject. I guess math and science has fun aspects to them before they got boring. Wish I had known about ADD and Aspergers back when I was in school... boy how that would have changed things (I think)

Year/Grade: already graduated.. HS in 94. and I squeezed 4yrs of undergrad into 9 and officially graduated in 2003 althought I "walked" in 99 (just never got around to going back and finishing up that last 1 credit hour for 4 years..... 1 hr... go figure)

Favorite music: genre or group/artist? Here again I have a diversified interest overall but is extremely narrow depending on what my current state is. Gregorian chant, classical (with a slight de-emphasis on Mozart... just to blah for me), jazz, blues, Irish folk (especially if bagpipes or the fiddle are involved), southern gospel, rock-n-roll, heavy metal, some rap, some country, some techno

Books: Books are something I have a hard time getting into. Generally once I get into a book I'm ok and practically can't stop reading it until I'm done.. but getting past the S L O W process of building up steam makes reading something I don't do very often. I can't even provide a name or auther of a book I have read.

TV shows/Movies: I don't really watch much TV, but when I do it's usually something on the history channel, science channel or the like. I used to watch Star Trek all the time when they were making episodes but with only re-runs.. no need to watch when you've seen them all a few dozen times. Movies - the Last Samurai, almost any military movie, Star Trek (of course), not big on comodies (don't care for what I call American humor) and I don't do suspense, thriller or ..... err what's the word.... fear?... scary?... eh.. can't think of it.. Stephen King type movies...

Instrument: In my school days I played trombone, baritone, tuba, french horn and since my school days I've picked up the Irish Tin whistle... just for something different

Do you like sports? watching them? Only football. I like the strategy of it. It's really just chess with 11 pieces instead of 16. playing? I can't hit, kick or throw a ball to save my life.

Family: I've somehow managed to get married, divorced, married again and from that 2nd marriage have 3, almost 4 kids (the 4th is due in Dec)

Clothing: do I wear it? yes. Do I know anything about it? no.

How did you find this website? via a google search pertaining to adults and aspergers or maybe it was aspergers and self-help either way it was a google search result

Job: Do i have one? Yes. What do I do? I'm a "computer guy". My title is Sr. Network Administrator but technically the title should be Sr. Systems Administrator/Engineer.

Plans for the future? To survive each day and, if I'm lucky, figure out how to have better relations (read better communication) with my wife and kids.

Any comments? None that I can think of.

What is your first name? currently my first name is Jaron

Age: 21

Location: Ypsilanti, Michigan (US)

Hobbies and Interests: I don't think I have any hobbies. I'm interested in music, film, sports (to an extent), books, health, and a host of other things. I like to learn about almost anything.

Why are you here? I have been unemployed for almost 2 years and while searching for jobs I stumbled on an article about "aspies." Ironically enough I recently purchased a book about aspergers syndrome that I had never read, and when I saw the link it caught my eye. After reading it and taking several online test just for fun (one which stated that I am very likely am an "aspie") I didn't know what to do next. I was perhaps a little embarrassed because my little brother has been telling me and other members of my family that he honestly thought I was autistic. I have a pretty good sense of humor so I never thought to seriously consider the idea of me being autistic. Mainly because my frame of reference in regards to autistic individuals was super narrow. I thought to myself, "I've seen autistic people, and I don't act like them." Obviously at this point I realize that there is more to it. Coincidentally my mother (a college counselor) apparently was in a meeting and she received an article as well. When she came home and told me about the things that were discussed at work she told me she was surprised at how dead-on my symptoms were. At that point I just decided that I should learn as much as possible...

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I have not been diagnosed. I am currently in the process of seeing someone to find out if indeed I "suffer from Aspergers Syndrome."

Favorite subjects: Can't think of any subjects that I would call favorite(s).

Year/Grade: Junior in college

Favorite music: I like so much music. I don't think I could ever pick a favorite.

Books: recently I have been reading several self-help books

TV shows/Movies: Some of my favorite shows are, That 70's Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, and Eastbound & Down. Some of my favorite movies are, The Inkwell, Bladerunner, Anchorman, and Mahler

Instrument: I wish

Do you like sports? I like to watch Basketball, Tennis, and very little football. I've never been the best at sports, but I do enjoy playing basketball and I like to run/jog.

Family: Parents are still living. I have 3 older sisters (1 that I have never met). I have 3 brothers (1 younger, 1 older, and the oldest I have never met). Other family I have is scattered. My family in general has never been very close. 3 of my siblings are half brother/sister.

Clothing: I am kind of all over the place with clothing. I would not mind having nice clothes, but it is not a top priority right now. For the most part I am pretty casual (at least in my opinion).

How did you find this website? entered a bunch of random things in google with the word asperger and *BOOM*

Job: professional hobo

Plans for the future? Right now I am going nowhere. I almost have nothing to lose.

Any comments? nope

Why are you here? friends, learning to interact (35 score on the AQ), learning coping via tips to try out, maybe find a relationship

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): 2005 self diagnosed Aspie and professionally diagnosed PDD-NOS

Do you like sports? Hate team sports- mostly because I don';t understand them and was never any good at them. In mid- 20's got into Martial Arts to combat fear and sensitivity issues- was poor with the physical aspect but was a philosophy master before I walked through the door the first time. Combined with my focus and drive, that put me in position as my Sifu's Head Student when only a white belt. In other words, all that "Snatch the pebble form my hand Grasshopper" and deep character development kind of stuff you are supposed to understand as a Master, I was already living.

Family: two brothers (one undiagnosed Aspie) I don't avoid and a father I avoid

Clothing: my body is changing too much to settle into getting a lot of clothes but dressed up, kind of glam rock with nice shirt and jacket and tie and when dressed up in rocker clothes- a lot of black and industrial look. My casual look is black cargo pants with black t shirt or Adam Lambert t shirt. I love clothes- especially shoes and boots.

How did you find this website? via watching a vid on Autism Hangout (which I found via Donna Williams' writings)

Job: on disability but going to start a business selling my music, art and writing. A publisher is willing to look at one of my mss.

Plans for the future? Maybe take a course in Web Design and continue writing books, poetry and music

Any comments? Glad to be here!
