What is your first name? My first name is Marissa.

Age: I will be 21 next month!

Location: I'm currently residing in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Thinking about taking off to Montreal soon.

Hobbies and Interests: Photography is my main hobby, but I also enjoy stargazing, video gaming, people watching, exploring new places, reading and attempting poetry. My main interests are photography, tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes, psychiatry, nature and animals.

Why are you here? I'm here to connect with fellow Aspies, as well as to find people who also have Borderline personality or people who dissociate, like myself.

When were you diagnosed?: In the year 2000, when I was 11 years old.

Favorite subjects: Biology, Geography, French, Art, Computer technology, English

Year/Grade: I dropped out of high school the day I turned 16.

Favorite music: I listen to mainly symphonic metal, like Tarja or Epica. But I also love Emilie Autumn and Dethklok, plus many other bands.

Books: I love the Twilight series, as well as the Host. I'm on book 3 of the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. I enjoy Ellen Hopkins books, and also Christopher Pike, R. L. Stine, Mary Higgins Clark and Laurell K. Hamilton.

TV shows/Movies: I watch the Vampire Diaries every week. I also love Storm chasers, America's next top model, Intervention, House, House Hunters, anything on the History or Discovery channel or HGTV. I'm also starting to get into Gossip Girl.

Instrument: I can't play any but if I could, It would be the piano and violin.

Do you like sports? Not really, I only watch hockey during the playoffs.

Family: I have an amazing husband who is determined to stick by my side through hell or high water, I'm very lucky to have him as he is an extremely rare catch these days. He's hilarious, trustworthy, dedicated, loving and extremely intelligent. I mean, the guy has an IQ in the 140's and he's not even an Aspie. My mother and father divorced when I was around 3. I secretly blame my father for all of my problems. I still love him but we don't have nearly as good of a relationship as my mother and I. My mother has been my best friend since day one. I have an older half brother who I hate with a passion. He's not very nice. My younger sister has always been a close friend of mine. She's always stuck up for me. And then, I have a kitten, named Petrie. He's keeping me together right now.

Clothing: I have my own style. I used to be a failure at fashion until I started reading magazine and watching fashion shows. My style really depends on my mood, but its usually dark, earthy, and fantasy inspired.

Job: I'm currently unemployed, but I'm planning on starting my own photography business soon.

Plans for the future? I want to move back to the states with my husband, he's from there. We were talking about moving to either New York City or maybe somewhere in California. I'd also love to start my own photography business. My biggest goal is to start a little family of our own.

Any comments? I also have Borderline personality disorder, and I dissociate a LOT. So if anyone else has these problems and would like to talk or get to know each other as friends, feel free to message me.

Why are you here? Started doing a lot of research about Asperger's and realized that I likely have it. Saw a lot of posts here that perfectly emulated everything I feel and that has happened to me over the years.

Favorite subjects: English and Social Studies

Year/Grade: I graduated college with a graphic design degree 3 years ago.

Favorite music: Mostly stuff from Prince, Steely Dan, Earth Wind and Fire, No Doubt, and many, many others.

Books: I Am Jackie Chan. Most of my other book interests are encyclopedias and comic books.

Plans for the future? Kinda wingin' it right now. I would like to open my own game store.

Any comments? I'd like to make some friends who are more like me, and I'm glad to not feel completely worthless anymore. For a long time (about 20 years) I just felt so detached from the world and always wondering why I was so different from everyone else. If I wasn't criticized for my music preferences it'd be for my video game preferences. If not THAT then my clothing. It just went in a huge cycle. And because I'm partially deaf on top of being "strange" it's even harder to identify with NTs. But when I found WP I felt a bit better.

Plans for the future? To earn at least £50,000. To have a loving relationship and friends who listen. I don't think those goals are too big to aim for, but all will require hard work.

Favorite music: I like many different kinds of music: Hebrew/Messianic/Jewish, Christian/Southern Gospel, country, old rock 'n' roll, easy listening, etc.

Books: I used to read a lot of fiction years ago, but now I don't read that much. When I do, I usually read informative books.

TV shows/Movies: I like sit-coms (TV)...anything that makes me laugh (movies)...old westerns, and Biblical movies.

Instrument: I can play a little bit on various instruments, but not enough on any of them to really be any good. My fingering skills are limited. I can play a little guitar, banjo, piano, and autoharp.

Do you like sports? No, I don't really like any sports at all, but I like watching certain Olympic games like swimming and gymnastics.

Family: My parents are still living...I have one younger sister...I am divorced and have two young adult children.

Clothing: I'm all for it!! I prefer to dress modestly in slacks with long tops or in long skirts/dresses. I also wear head coverings.

When were you diagnosed?: 6th grade which would have been when I was 11 which was seven years ago. My brother was diagnosed first, and he definitely has Asperger's, I was tested afterwards, and I am borderline, technically.
