i just realized i didnt check the dogs food or water for like a week and they were out the whole time. That and a couple other things throught the day i guess if i dont see it, it doesn't exist so i wrote out a list of things to remember to look for throughout the day like: did i remember to put the food away after making meals? remember to check dog food and water. remember to check my son's diaper throughout the day.
I'm going to see how that reminder list helps me throughout the day in keeping up on things. If i remember to look at it that is... anyone else have a list like that? does it help? I usually have my wife texting me through the day telling me what to do but she's been super busy and can't text and i really let things get messy. i guess we'll see.

YES, YES, and yes!! ! I have a black book with my days blocked in for almost everything I have to do, if it is not in the book it doesn't get done!! My husband always jokes about penciling him in  I seriously have a place for "get kids off bus" "pick up baby from pre school" "take out trash" and my personal favorite "remember to eat!". I also forgot to buy food for the dog and cat this week  I will have to put "buy pet food" in the book. If I forget to look in my book I loose track of what I need to do and appointment's are impossible to keep without it. I look in it all the time, it has blocks for each half hour of the day and the days of the week are all in a row, that makes it easy to see what tomorrow looks like! The only thing I have to remember is to look in it and not to lose it!! I keep it in a special pocket in my backpack (I would lose a regular purse). My husband put notes in it once in a while if he needs something done, If your wife is the organizer and remembers all that stuff it might be nice if she could look in it once a week (since she is busy) then she could adjust what needs to be done, see what you have going on, and add anything she thinks is missing or important. If you are as forgetful as me this can be VERY helpful and keep your busy wife more sane (she doesn't have to worry as much that you are forgetting something important). It is also a good place to keep important numbers and things like the shopping list.

That is pretty much my life.
The upside? Opening the cupboard and finding the cake I bought the day before, but had forgotten about already.

I too rely on to-do lists, and I also use timers to put a time limit on certain tasks so I do not get distracted.

i also have a list of foods the kids like. if i didnt have a list of different foods they like i would fix them the same thing every meal. i was trying to make the kids something different for dinner than they had for lunch the other day and for the life of me i couldn't think of anything so i went to my list and boom right there i had at least 5 ideas that i had the incredients to right on the top of the list. before i had kids i ate the same thing twice a day every day and never got tired of it but my kids do so have to have ideas written for them. i need to get post it notes around the place that say "look at list" though because i forgot to look at the list and the list is no good if i dont look at it :D

Scrunchies! Bright neon colored scrunchies that I keep in strategic places and put on my wrist as soon as I turn on the stove, space heater or anything else that might cause a catastrophe if I leave town with out turning off.

I am always making lists in my little book in my purse. I always forget everything. Also write appointments on the calender...but then I forget to look at both and still miss things :x

That's what I use my arms for. Gets me weird looks, but so do most of my behaviors, lol. If I write it on paper, I forget to look at the list 8O So I just started writing it on my arms.

I have a whiteboard on my wall, and I write the things I have to do on it, then wipe them off when I've done them. Otherwise I'd forget things I need to do. It helps quite a bit.

i have a dry erase board on the fridge for my wife to put specific things i need to do. they dont always get done but they're there when i get around to doing them. it's about shoulder height and i have a habbit of brushing up against or bumping into things as i walk so sometimes my shoulder erases them accidently.
