Why are you here? Thought it might be nice to talk with others with Asperger's or at least are close with someone that has it.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Two years ago...far too late in my opinion.

Favorite subjects: Science and history

Year/Grade: 20,000th it seems.

Favorite music: Heavy metal (especially thrash metal from the 1980s), punk, classic rock, rockabilly, reggae/ska, 80s pop, grunge rock, new wave, movie scores, music from the 1930s and 1940s.

Books: Stephen King is, as of yet, the only fictional writer I enjoy. Otherwise I will read strictly science and history books.
TV shows/Movies:

What is your first name? My name is confidential, although I wouldl like to be refered as Rose.

Age: I am 18 years of age as of the end period of January.

Location: I reside in New Zealand.

Hobbies and Interests: I enjoy classical studies; Ancient Greece; Italy, psychology, philosophy, criminal psychology, and the Arts.
I like sewing and I'm learning to construct corsets currently, modelling and photomanipulation, reading and writing stories, taking photographs of nature and animals; especially cats.
As I'm an introvert, I enjoy solitary activities rather than socialised activities.

Why are you here? To meet people who are similar to me, and to learn more about Asperger Syndrome and Autism as austism spectrum disorder is genetic in my family.

When were you diagnosed? I was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome in July, 2011. This makes it a recent diagnosis.
I have been diagnosed with other disorders, however, those are a private matter.

Favorite subjects: Classical studies, psychology, and fashion and design.

Year/Grade: I have finished my secondary school education, and I am currently in preperation for my first year of studying next year.

Favorite music: Dark ambient, darkwave, deathrock, symphonic metal, opera, batcave, gothic rock, astompheric, gothic industrial, etc..

Books: I enjoy Anne Rice novels, I also like to read fantasy and philosophical texts. As I have dsylexia, reading is difficult for me to do too often.
I also like literature and romantic/dark poetry. Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favourite authors.

TV shows/Movies: I enjoy gothic, fantasy, historic movies, and animal comedies. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are my favourite people in the film industry.
My favourite movie is the Harry Potter series, although, I have many other favourites.
As for television, I enjoyed the series Charmed, Supernatural, House and documentries.

Instrument:I like the violin, harpsicord, harp, flute, piano and medieval instruments. However, I play only piano and I want to learn the violin this year.

Sports: I don't like sports.

Family: I have two parents who are divorced, I have two younger sisters and a younger half brother who has autism.

Clothing: I have an immense interest with corsetry, victorian fashion, and a gothic style. My favourite material is lace.

Why are you here?
I want to learn more about my differences, both from a mental/medical standpoint, and from the standpoints of those others who, like me, have differences in the way their brains function.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder):
I was diagnosed when I was 19 with AD/HD severe inattentive type, but was told it might be something else since it's so severe. I've been learning a lot about Aspergers, and been comparing it to me. I figure it's a co-morbid. I"m in the long, drawn-out process of getting that diagnosed now.

No. It's not fun to watch people: tackling or being tackled, running, hitting balls, throwing balls, catching balls, sliding across the dirt, driving cars, etc., etc., etc.

Family:
My mother is dead (I miss her so much, she was my best friend), my father and brother hate me, and my sister doesn't even try to understand me. My "family" is not blood-related; they are the people who decide to like me anyway, even though I'm not always able to hold my meltdowns until I get home.

Clothing:
I don't really care what it looks like as long as I'm comfortable. Brand names can kiss my, umm, nevermind. But seriously, I find some things very comfortable, but wool and synthetics itch me horribly. I end up scratching holes in my skin if I wear them.

Job:
Nope. No one, in the fields I know I could work, wants someone who can't even finish one course in college.

Favorite music: Rock Opera, baby! In multiple languages at that. And Classical music.

Family: My parents recently divorced. My father is an alcoholic and has untreated bipolar disorder. I have a twin sister who is also bipolar. My mother is pretty much the only "normal" one in the family.

Clothing: T-shirt and jeans when I'm not wearing PJs and lounge clothes. I do love fashion but I am very self-conscious about my body right now and don't wear nice things very often at this point (plus I never get out much anyway).

How did you find this website? I was searching the web for a place where people with Aspergers could meet.

Job: None at the moment. I've been a barn/therapy assistant at a therapeutic riding stable, a barn manager, a dog groomer, and an Animal Care Specialist at Petsmart in the past though.

Plans for the future? Someday maybe I'll feel well enough to finish college - I dropped out due to depression and Asperger's (going away from home just killed me). Right now I'm just living day to day so I couldn't tell you any specific plans for the future.
