Hi my name is Owen im 15 years old. im undiagnosed aspergers. I am too affraid to tell my mum i think i need testing because i dont want her to keep asking me questions about it and i dont want her to go around telling everybody i think i have aspergers so i have not been tested yet. i have taken many AQ tests online all of them i got the score 43 which is in the asperger range. I dont think im gonna go get tested by an actual doctor or psychologist until i am 18 so i dont have to depend on my mother to make an appointment and get me there.

oddly enough I can totally, I got diagnosed with depression when I was 15, my mom told everyone from people in the grocery store to my dance teacher who then preceded to announce it to everyone in the studio, ever have a 7 year old ask you what depression was and why you needed medicine for it.

WOW that's about the same as me only, I'm the youngest of three so I saw that happen to my older sisters so I became very introverted and never talked to my parents. They tried putting me through counselling but I didn't say much then either. I fixated on the digital clock and ran multiplication tables in my mind. Count on an aspie to think playing with numbers are fun. It wasn't all lost though, I was proscribed Xanax.

Owen, you need to remember that you aren't a freak. I'm 28 and I figured out a couple years ago that I'm aspie. It didn't kill me to go 25 years without help but, I might have been able to keep more friendships.
The biggest thing that's helped me is when I figured out my pitfalls. Once I found them I can kinda predict how I will react and the best jobs, places, people to be around.
I talk to my sister(who is also aspie) and we help each other out alot. If you know you have someone you can trust it would help to talk to them. Just don't assume that because they are your parent or some authority figure that you can trust them. My sister has been my best friend and always defends and helps me, even when we were kids.
But whatever you decide, remember that you are the same as everyone else, our brains just work differently. Best of luck :D
