Re-introducing FluffyDog (still undiagnosed)

Hi everyone,

I used to post on WP from about two and a half years ago to about one and a half years ago, so some of you may remember me. I took a break from WP because I didn't feel like participating and also my RL was going a lot better, but now things are more difficult again and I started reading WP again. I'll most likely share some of my personal troubles here on WP in the next days.

I'm still living near Cologne in Germany and I'm still studying Chemical Engineering though I'm seriously considering to give up my studies and to find myself a paying job. During my WP absence I had a relationship with a guy who turned out to be quite different from what I had thought he was like, but we broke up about a month ago. I'm pretty much okay with him not being around anymore though it still hurts a little just how things broke apart in the end. All in all, I think I'm better off without him.

My private life is still overshadowed by my demented grandmother and the emotional stress she puts on the family, but by now she is past the worst phase, I think. Now she doesn't realize anymore how bad her state really is and she can relax under the care of the nurses in the communal residence for demented people where she now lives.

As far as my self-proclaimed Asperger's is concerned, I got started on obtaining a diagnosis, but for adults it's a pretty slow process here in Germany. I passed the first stage and now I'm waiting for an appointment to be scheduled for the second of the three stages of the diagnosis process. That I'm on the list for the second stage means that I looked like I might be autistic in the first stage, enough so that they'll take a closer look at me. But it will be about another half a year before I get either a diagnosis or a declaration of NT-ness from the hospital running the diagnosis process for me.

I hope that wasn't too jumbled a re-introduction and made some kind of sense to somebody. Anyway, I'm back to WP and I'll try to keep my whining down to a tolerable extent. It' good to see so many names still around that I recognize from my first term of participation here.

I hope your diagnosis moves through fast, things like that aren't nice to have hanging over you and in your thoughts constantly.

This is what I like most about WP: the way everybody can feel at home here, no matter if they're long-time residents of the site, newly joined or recently returned. Thanks for the welcome everyone and I hope everybody will enjoy their time here.
