Grandfather was full-blooded Indian. His mother was Creek, and his father was Cherokee. My grandmother was "white". So, that makes my dad half. My mom is "white", so the Indian bloodline was diluted even more. So, I guess that makes me 1/4 Indian and 3/4 "white". I think my mother is of Scottish ancestry, but can't be 100% positive about that.
I remember meeting my great-grandparents and thinking that they were a bit odd in their ways. Now, as an adult looking back, I wish I'd have gotten to know them better, as my grandfather never spoke of them again after their deaths. My great-grandmother was the last to go, burning to death in a strange fire. She was standing too close to a fireplace to get warm, when her nightgown caught fire. Instead of the "drop, stop, roll" method, she ran through the house toward the front door, causing the fire on her nightgown to spread more rapidly. She made it to the front lawn, collapsing on the ground. She never recovered.
Anyway, that's who I am, or at least, where I come from....
