i thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself first,
im camiel from tilburg, holland, im 20 years old and in school following an IT study,
my great passion is making music and listening to it, although i must say playing computer games is also a big hobby, i curently play electric guitar and piano, and thinking about picking up the violin again

i was diagnosed an aspie when i was 13, and it was quite a relief for all those unanswerd questions about being such a "troubled boy", funny thing is, when it was diagnosed, the person performing the test later told my mother i could never live on my own, and here i am sitting in my room (although it's only the first month) and always worried about ever finding a partner im now very very happy with my girlfriend

i guess my reason for comming to this board is to show aspies who are insecure about the future (like i was) that there is a way and that becomming who you want to be shouldnt be limited by something like asperger (personaly asperger is a gift to me, it helps with the music)

hope that gives me a bit of an intro, any questions, sure, let's hear m

and for all the people just as curious as me, this is how i look

as you can see, im not very serious by nature, although i can be, oh, and ofcourse i can be romantic

ah, i see i left out some bits here and there, im very sober, as i dont drink, smoke, do drugs or eat meat, wich is just a standard thing why people find me wierd,

although my life is a little chaotic i have a strange sense of perfectionism, for instance, my itunes library is perfectly orderd, coverflow and everything, whilst my schoolbag is just litterd with junk.

growing up for me was kind of strange, since my parents i guess didnt want an abnormal child, my brother and sister are both great achivers, both having a wonderfull career, whilst i as the youngest child have the lowest education (although im just as smart) and cause the most trouble, when i discoverd having asperger i put on a role, like an actor would, and always pretended being a normal child, to the point where i would point people to anti-social behaviour, about a year ago, something snapped, i just couldnt pretend to be that normal kid anymore, since then i've been living a merged life, acting as a normal, thinking like an aspie, and since my friends and family all know about it i dont have to pretend in front of them, my acting was one of the reasons for my ex to break up, she told me she was insecure because she didnt know if my feelings where just a play, although i assured her it wasnt so.

well, let's see, a little more about my strangeness..ah, i already told you guys how my asperger helps me with music, for example, i can very easily hear wich scale is being played, because all the sounds and progressions are "saved" inside my mind, i also have an unhealthy way of saving a lot of useless guitar facts and knowing a lot about guitars, (i reccon a lot of aspies have this, with other things/hobby's) i have the same with songs, i can hear wich song im listening to in almost an instant (it's a lot of fun with ipod music quizes)

i also work at a gameshop, here my asperger comes into play where i can easily remember where games are located in the shop and know a lot of "useless" data about them, wich helps customers out apperently "sir, what is this game about *recites the back cover in own words*, oh, and is it any good? *thinks, recites what he has read and heard* ok, i'll take that one then"

well, im sure i'll be adding another patch of text tomorow :p
