Depression/anxiety stopped me from holding down a job or keeping freinds. I am now pretty sure I have had Aspergers all my life. Everything fits. Great relief to understand why I avoided social encounters (even with family) all these years. Now, at a very young 56 years, I am determined to grab the bull by the horns and get out there. Looking for any information that may be relevant, and would love to make some freinds. G.

Thanks all for a nice welcome. I am a native of Greenock, on the west coast, and on the River Clyde. 'WrongPlanet' exactly describes how I felt all my life. I was always terrified that people would suss that I shouldn't be here, so I tried to 'hide' - even though I have had a pretty full life to date. Basically, I new nothing about Aspergers, and so feared there was something seriously amiss with me. Hence, anxiety/depression/anxiety/depression/anxiety etc, etc. Has anyone any advice or information in dealing with aspergers? thanx.
