Hi, I'm Chell (nickname, not real name) and I was just diagnosed with Asperger's on Thursday. I've always had a feeling that I've had it which is why I've been lurking here for a while without posting until today. I'm 18 years old and in college and it's frustrating to deal with sometimes. I think that the most frustrating thing about having this is that it seems like most of the research and help books out there are aimed towards parents with children who are on the autism spectrum. I wish there was more about/aimed at adults or young adults who are dealing with the same issues. Anyway, enough complaining XD It's nice to meet you!

I own two books on autism and both are for parents. Pretty much all the books I've read on autism are for people who are not themselves autistic. There needs to be a book written for autistic by an autistic. Or possibly a book by psychologists for autistic titled "This is why you act this way" or something like that. So far, this site has been the best resources on autism yet and the first place I met other autistic. You will enjoy it here. I have.

Thank you everyone for the welcomes and @Drone I'm studying psychology in college now so hopefully I will be that person who writes the book by and for people with autism in the future.
