Hi I'm DAS

I'm a 39 year old female diagnosed at 37 at the Autism Research Centre at Cambridge University. I live in the UK with my Husband of seventeen years (an NT) and our two AS Sons Ben who is fifteen and Sam who is soon to be eleven.

We have four generations of AS family members including my Mom, Brother and various Nephews and one Niece. Whilst I'm new here I do know a few familiar faces from other boards, Hi Amy, Gryn, Torley, anbuend and attentiontunnel.

I am against a cure for AS - I'm NOT broken, and I DON'T need to be fixed is my motto. I am more than happy to be the unique individual that is me, I am not AS, I am a person who has AS and therein lies my problem when people say "oh there's .............. she's Aspie". That's just an example, but I hate being known as a condition not a person - my AS is just another facet of who I am. I look forward to getting to know more of you.

Many Blessings

DAS

Hi DAS, I'm Cindy, from Pennsylvania, USA. I am married 22 years to my husband (NT) and have 5 kids -- 4 of whom are still living at home. I'm self-dx'd and not looking for an official dx. What would be the point? I've come this far without it! I don't need to be treated or cured.

I totally agree, I am happy to be who I am, and my mantra is 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'. I most certainly am not broken. Thanks for the welcome.
