Any comments? I always had the so called symptoms, but after a divorce ( two years ago), and loosing my children everyday, my "normal life" as thought, became very inconsistent, causing the symptoms to manifest.

Do you like sports? - No. I am very terrible at sports. I like watching soccer, though (in person, not on TV). It's fun watching all the little people run around and trying to guess where the ball will end up.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Still in the process although I was first assessed in 1990 when I was 5, Aspergers wasn't well known & certainly wasn't known in girls so they just put it down to a complete lack in any form of interest of socialising even though I was highly intelligent...

Job: Personal care attendant although I suck at working at the moment. Pretty much had a nervous breakdown at the start of the year so I only do one sleepover shift a week. I want to work again but I keep freaking out when I try & having to quit because the anxiety & panic attacks are so severe

Plans for the future? To be less screwed up so I can actually achieve something is a short term goal

Any comments? Sorry for the depressive post- It's been a crap day. No particular reason just not a good day. If I was in a hyper crazy mood like yesterday I would have been much more entertaining

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): About twenty years ago. My wife and I took our youngest son to a psychiatrist, and he said our son had Aspergers. He described the symptoms, my wife and I looked at each other, and we both said that he was describing me.

Favorite subjects: History and computer science. I actually completed a bachelors in mathematics, but that was in an attempt to please my father (who almost certainly had Aspergers himself).

Year/Grade: I have an MA in History of Religion and an MS in Computer Science

TV shows/Movies: I watch a lot of Food Network, some dramas. I loved the Lord of the Ring movies, but my all-time favorite is Casablanca.

Do you like sports? Not really. I watch a few baseball games, and the Olympics when they are on. My wife is a real fan of American Rules Football (the Green Bay Packers), and I have watched enough football that I know the game fairly well. I used to be a distance runner, but I was never good at it -- I can run for miles, but not very quickly. I am not dexterous.

Family: I have been married for 40 years, and have three sons. I had a grandson, but he died an hour after birth (my then daughter-in-law had the genes for a particularly virulent form of muscular dystrophy). I also have two Great Pyrenees dogs.

When were you diagnosed?: Still not formally diagnosed yet, I was diagnosed with ADHD years ago but now that's being questioned in favor of Aspegers

Plans for the future? I don't really know. I have a few possible directions to go from undergrad. I'm a History/Anthropology major right now and I would love to go into Archaeology but I'm also looking at Library Sciences and Historic Preservation. Just something with old things.

Why are you here? I generally find it easier to communicate & socialise over the internet. I'm looking for people to talk to (or even just read, when I can't cope with talking myself) and to learn more about ASDs and other people's experiences and how they cope.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I don't have an official diagnosis right now but it is something I've been discussing with my psychotherapist recently.

Favourite subjects: It's hard to think what to put for this. I can become interested in almost anything.

Year/Grade: Left school at 13. I have one GCSE (Maths, grade A) and am currently working towards an NVQ3 in dental nursing.

Favourite music: Again, almost anything.

Books: I mostly read sci-fi, crime and nonfiction. Some of my favourite authors are John Shirley, William Gibson, Bruce Sterling, Jo Nesbo, Iain Bank / Iain M Banks, Denise Mina and Phillip K Dick.

Plans for the future? Get some A levels so I can study dentistry. Go back and study medicine if I decide I want to go into OMF (oral & maxilla-facial surgery). Live somewhere that isn't my mum's sofa. Try to create some form of social life for myself.

Job: I’m an analyst at a fortune 500 company, but am a contract worker (no value to the company, at least that is how we are treated).

Plans for the future? I never imagined life past 40 (2000). I have been adrift for the past 13 years, and rudderless for the past 7 (last divorce).

Any comments? I am very lonely, and long for companionship. I seem to get worse as I age. I lived life well, and felt I was successful. But the past couple of years I feel very differently about my life.

Moving somewhere else... not exactly sure yet, thinking Australia, possibly South Africa, to start over and work towards being a lot more self sufficient and not being enslaved by these government/corporate constraints and hopefully finding a community out there somewhere where we all contribute for an Ultimate Goal of the Health and Preservation of Humanity

Favorite music: Classic rock, progressive/art rock, progressive metal, progressive/technical extreme metal, hardcore punk, heavy metal, alternative metal, grunge. I listen to music from every genre though. Deftones are my absolute favorite band.
