I stumbled on this forum through a search I was doing on being easily overwhelmed...while I've never been diagnosed with Aspergers or the like, after reading up on symptoms I feel I may be frighteningly close to indeed possible having it. I always associated it with having low function, but perhaps there are some that function pretty normally with it?

I just happened to be channeling past a show on ADD on tv and I have many of those signs as well.

Some may tell me to go to a doctor, but do you feel their diagnoses are 100%? At any rate it would be an extra burden to me to be labeled with this,as I've always been the person that so many look to for support...

In terms of level of functioning and Asperger's, it runs the full range from low functioning to gifted.

In my opinion, if you think you identify with the characteristics of Asperger's and get comfort from associating with others like you, that is as much of a diagnosis as is necessary, unless of course you are young enough to be in school and require special services.
