Hello Stacey,

I am also new and could relate to several of the things you mentioned. I have not officially been diagnosed as somewhere on the spectrum but have immediate and less-immediate family members who have (it is hereditary). It is much harder to diagnose less "severe" forms (i.e. Aspergers) in adulthood as most have learned ways around the most obvious issues and non-NT type of behaviours and the problems that remain could be diagnosed as something else. I personally think that mental health does not fit into neat little categories, but that is just me.

I am also one of those people that has "social anxiety, not knowing how to make or keep friends, but desperately wanting some" as you and Autisticguy1981 (and probably others on the forum) have expressed. That is partly why I am here.

I am curious as to what you are studying in.
