Hello,
I am new here and wanted to say, "Hello." I've put together a little (well OK, pretty long) introduction that I hope will give you a little insight into who I am.
Who I Am...
I'm a married (with children) adult male who has know that I've been different my whole life. I think that a lot of people can say that at some point or another of their development, but I remain different in a lot of different ways. I have traits and mannerisms that until recently, I excused as just being a bit well? different from others. My curiosity was piqued one night and I did a search for several of the traits that I see as making me different from others. After searching for a while, a common thread started to emerge that pointed the fact that I may have high-functioning autism. I'd say Aspergers, but I read that that is no longer a separate diagnosis after DSM V. In looking at that, it actually explains a lot. I've taken the Aspie Quiz and got the following:
Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 169 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 39 of 200
You are very likely neurodiverse (Aspie)
I hope to get some more information, meet others who have the same condition and see how my potential diagnosis figures into my life.
Well, I guess that's about it for me for now. Thanks for listening!
