[Tentatively tests the waters] Hi everybody. First off, a little note about my username: Don't mistake me for a "Grammar Nazi"; while I am passionate about the subject, I won't annoyingly correct every grammatical mistake others make on here. I'm aware everyone has different strengths and weaknesses.

Anyway, I have Asperger's and am a very lonely, depressed person. If you're so inclined, you can read more about me in that handy-dandy little "bio" on my profile page. I probably won't be the most prominent member on here, but you can expect me to at least be a semi-regular. I know how forums go, where a person will make a greeting thread and then never post again. That's not my style. Anyway, I hope to share my experiences with other members here and meet others who are like me so I can stop feeling like I am, yes, on the wrong planet.

Hello Grammar Geek, and welcome to Wrong Planet!

I always liked doing spelling and punctuation tests back in elementary school and I like to read.

May I ask what kinds of things you are interested in?

Hi,
I am new too. I have Aspergers and ADHD. And I'm not so good with spelling and grammar.

Welcome, Grammar Geek! ( love the nickname; classmates of mine used to call me "Word Man" because I knew just about any word in the dictionary. I prefer "Word Nerd".)
Not everybody appreciates people like that so I have to be careful not to look like I'm showing off or being arrogant, but I am a stickler for correct spelling ! I have to all but sit on my hands to not correct the typos in library books (and to be totally honest, sometimes I do anyway...)

Note to Jeffrey who "is not good with spelling and grammar": Don't worry about it, I don't judge. And your spelling and grammar in the post look fine.

I used to have a real problem with correcting my teachers' grammar. Most of them did not appreciate it. Luckily, I'm now able to hold my tongue when I see the instructor make a spelling error, although I'm usually unable to concentrate until it's erased or fixed. But now I'm an editor for my college newspaper and a proofreader for the sermons of some wacko conservative preacher, so I get to correct people for money!
