I'm new, so I'll answer the questions. Questions are good. Questions=structure! (Ok, I'll answer some of them.)
What is your first name? I'll probably go by my screen name here. I'm not ashamed to be here, it just seemed that there are all kinds of warnings not to post my real name. (Though I opened an account with my real name at some point...and then never signed into it again. I flake out sometimes with registering for places and forgetting to ever come back...)
Age: 38
Location: Central Maryland
Hobbies and Interests: writing, acting on stage, photography, slow walks, old video games that everybody else in the world has already beaten in their childhood probably, watching football/baseball. (Mostly Ravens, and Nationals, but Orioles sometimes too.)
Why are you here? To make more connections among other on the spectrum. To have a place where maybe once in a while I'll make a bit more sense to others.
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Just over one year ago. (How I wish I would have known during my childhood.)
Favorite music: Favorite anything is one of the more difficult things for me to list. But I listen to older country and folk music, some classic rock, some soft rock. Broad, I know, I know.
Books: The Old Man and the Sea, Adventures in Time and Space with Max Merriwell, The Hobbit (but not LOTR...), and all kinds of other random fiction...since I usually stumble across a book that interests me, as opposed to having any kind of system. I also like history books and biographies/memoirs.
TV shows/Movies: Not much in the way of today's TV. I watch reruns of old shows a lot. The Golden Girls, Johnny Carson, Andy Griffith Show, Star Trek: TNG. I own The West Wing and Slings and Arrows. They are my favorite shows of all time thus far. (Unlikely to be unseated.)
Instrument: Forced to choose, I'd say the violin, as far as listening is concerned. As far as playing...well I don't play anything.
Do you like sports? I do like to watch football/baseball, but I won't be upset if I miss it usually. I like to watch the Olympic when they roll around. I've even been known to watch golf sometimes.
Family: I'm one of six kids, the only one that doesn't have kids of their own by now. I'm not married either.
Clothing: My tastes in clothes are fairly simple. Jeans, t-shirts, sweat shirts...sometimes polo shirts. And I wear about a size and sometimes more larger than my frame...I hate being in tight, formfitting clothing.
How did you find this website? a web search some time ago.
Job: I am a freelance writer, and I have some part time hours a few times a week as a housekeeper in a retirement home.
Plans for the future? I find more places to write, and to continue to write and publish my own fiction. (I have done so twice so far, and will publish a mystery novel next month. You can contact me if you're interested.)
Any comments? I have a weird relationship with message boards and forums. I join them, read them, try to comment on threads, but often find that what i was going to say has already been said. So I don't say it, and suddenly months have gone by, and nobody knows who I am, because I never say anything. So I leave. 
Hoping to break that pattern this time.

Hobbies and Interests: my main hobby is poetry and cartooning/illustration, but for a while now I study the history of Geisha and Maiko of Kyoto, Japan. I love history and so I read a lot of books on that subject--I think I've read all of them except 3. Other than that I also love to sing and take photographs of people/myself.
Why are you here? I need to know more about my autism and I think here is a good place to start.
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I've been given the diagnoses 3 times by 3 different psychiatrists/doctors in the last 2 years.
Favorite subjects: Art/Illustration, history, English/Writing
Year/Grade: I would be a senior in college, but I postponed college last year to move to Austin. I plan on going back Fall 2016.

Family: Single mom, one younger sister, dad is a jerk who lives far away.
Clothing: I love fashion and fashion photography!! I really like clothing inspired from 1977 punk styles, street fashion and 90s pop fashion.
How did you find this website? googled "autism forum".
Job: I work as a barista at Starbucks. It's the worst. In the past I've worked for Buffalo Exchange, a costume shop, a personal assistant to an art curator and a personal assistant to a hairdresser. My first job was the best--a nanny making $12/hr.
Plans for the future? I'm not super sure...I want to be able to teach people things; I love history and writing and photography and art and all of that stuff...I really want to start a band and go back to college. I don't know. What I DO know for sure is that I want to have a good domestic-style life, with a life-partner or spouse and maybe some kids. I like keeping a home. It's fun.
Any comments? I'm learning to love my aspergers.
