Greetings
The diagnosis was a relief for me. I wouldn't be afraid of it.
I can only talk to people about things in which I am interested. I can't do small talk. I don't even try anymore.
Hi!
I've read about - and encountered - so much ignorance about diagnosing ASD in a) adult and b) females, I'm afraid of encountering it while trying to get my diagnosis, and I've been unable to find a qualified psychiatrist I would trust so far. I'm planning to move for my graduate degree in 2 years to a place with a slightly wider range of options, I'll definitely be looking into someone there.
Knowing I'm autistic was a huge relief in itself, too.
I can kind of pretend I can do small talk, but judging by people's reactions I'm being extremely creepy and/or awkward. Can't actually sustain relationships for the life of me.
Nice to meet you!
