Introducing Emissary (Me!)

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick heads up, this is one of my first posts and is the first time I've used a forum so please forgive me if I format anything incorrectly or ignore some forum ettiquette I'm not savvy with yet. I hope to use this as a kind of introduction for myself.

I'm Emissary (real name Will but call me what you like as long as it's not too hurtful ) and I'm joining WrongPlanet in an attempt to connect with people and hopefully strike up a few friendships. I'm male and 21 years old, with my hobbies mainly revolving around video games (any fans of The Last of Us here? - can't wait for the second one), movies and books.
I have personal past experience with depression and anxiety and have struggled to connect with others in what I perceive to be a meaningful way and whilst most of that's behind me now I still struggle to make friends and have great empathy for those going through similar situations (if you wanna talk or vent, chuck me a PM ).
I was diagnosed fairly late, when I was 17, but have become so proficient at hiding the condition that no one I work with or socialise with knows I'm on the spectrum.
I'm employed full time in a specialist college for those with ASC, co-morbid conditions or learning difficulties and the service users I work with can present behaviours that challenge, so I have professional experience regarding Autism as well as personal.

I want to reiterate that I'm joining in order to make friends, so please don't be shy and PM me (or reply here) if you think we might share similar interests, have questions about me or just want to chat!
