INFJ, although I occasionally get ENFJ or ISFJ, but I think that’s because I have learnt to ‘cheat the system’ and now know what answers get what responses

Eh, somewhere on the INTP to ENTP continuum, I guess, from what people I know fairly well have told me, after I have given them blind personality descriptions (so as to avoid bias) -- and probably more INTP than ENTP.

I've studied the 16 type system for many years, including the theses of those who try to connect it to neuroscience (Dario Nardi and Jon Niednagel). I initially thought I was INTJ or INFJ, and I identified as INFJ in particular for a number of years (Personality Cafe etc) -- but after getting further unbiased feedback as aforementioned, it seems INTP is best fit, if I must select one of these 16 types. Some might argue ENTP. Niednagel thinks half the populace is ENTP!

I'm not against categorical delineations of behavior, but I just want things to be more precise. This includes autism labels.

And we aren't there yet...

but I'll pick INTP, if I must.

ISTJ. It's quite spot on. Found somewhere these short (generalizations) of the types but ISTJ: Claim to have no feelings. Climb a tree and sit there to write poetry, paint, feel sorry for yourself, and cry. Deliver perfectly timed comebacks and one-liners with ease. Become obsessed with honesty. Start thinking in patterns. Plan a murder
souns 99% me.

I've never been able to get through a Myers-Briggs test. I've tried online Myers-Briggs tests a few times, and each time gave up in frustration before I could finish. For too many of the questions, either I had no preference between the two alternatives offered, or the wording of the question made assumptions that were utterly irrelevant to my life.

I'm glad to hear that the psych establishment considers Myers-Briggs to be unscientific.
