I just came across the forum yesterday, I had been researching as much as I could take in on Aspergers as my score is quite high and I am still overwhelmed. The title of the forum and the icon made me laugh, as this is exactly how I have felt my entire life, so that in itself was welcoming, I often said to my mum, I feel like an alien stranded on the wrong planet and I am trying to find my way back home, like ET.

Whomever created this forum, I am deeply grateful! Thank you so much!

Please share how you came to find this forum and post a link or the talk if it is that way or were you recommended the site by others?

I found the forum from this lecture by Christian Stewart-Ferrer is a clinical psychologist in private practice ("Tidens Psykologer") in Odense, Denmark - and a lecturer at the University of Southern Denmark.
He has worked extensively with people with Autism Spectrum Conditions for a number of years, and is himself diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpitsA-0pBQ

Welcome to wrong planet. I also found the forum from that lecture by Christian Stewart-Ferrer.

I don't remember where, exactly, I first came across WP, but I somehow ran into it when doing a lot of online research on autism and the autism community back in early 2018.

We should make the first post a "sticky"----for people to read whenever they feel that WrongPlanet is going down the tubes.

Thanks to those of you that have bothered to reply, its interesting for me to learn about how others discovered their Aspergers too, I think this site is a lifeline.

When I was diagnosed by a psychologist she gave me a printout with resources and links, and WrongPlanet was on it. This is the one place in the universe where I can communicate freely about who I am and how I feel.

I found this on the internet because I wanted to ask a question about something and the only way to ask was to join the site. I rarely join new sites so it was a rather big thing for me.

I have only joined forums a few times, all bad experiences, so was very nervous about coming here.

I don't remember how I came across it, but I do recall it was some time in 2010. I then met my (now) wife on aspieaffection. She moved to America from England and we got married. I dont remember my old user name. I signed up because I felt socially isolated and unaccepted. That is the reason I came back.

I found it from a Google search to find local support groups to attend. The local groups aren't very close by but I am still open to finding one in the future. Coincidentally, my Aspie daughter knew about WP already. She found it though a support services office at her college.

I found it many years ago. I would say I was a rough estimate of 11 or 12 years old. I felt at home here believe it or not, just by lurking around, even though I either tossed the account I made or never made one... though I swear I had made one. If I did post here, given that I made an account, it was probably in the forum games section. Luckily I have this one now.
