Location: Scotland

Hobbies and Interests: er, music (esp guitars), mountain bikes, bikepacking & (relapsed) climber

Why are you here? Because I operate under the premise that I'm neurodivergent. It makes the most sense for me of my life... I had an episode recently where my anxiety levels skyrocketed and I went sort of non-verbal. I was told that I didn't understand how people think and feel towards/in reaction to me and that I was completely uncommunicative...

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Not diagnosed, self identify as it explains my life... I have friends who are diagnosed and have spent a lot time discussing the issues. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks...

Favorite subjects: I'm an engineer, don't get me started... Music. Biking.

Year/Grade: N/A

Favorite music: minimal(ist). Arvo Part, Bang on a Can, Steve Reich, Rosalia, Cesaria Evora, El Camaron y Paco de Lucia, Country, Alternative, pretty much a little of everything...

Books: Neal Stephenson, Bill Gibson

TV shows/Movies: Les Revenants, Twin Peaks, Firefly, Mr Robot, The OA

Instrument: Guitar

Do you like sports? not really. Cycling, climbing, er, thats about it.

Family: Brother (if I'm ND so is he!), sister, kind of step son, nieces (and a diagnosed non-verbal autistic nephew).

Clothing: functional

How did you find this website? an aspie friend pointed me here...

Job: Engineer (built environment, renewables & sustainability)

Plans for the future? Not really, a Camino next summer I guess

Any comments? I'm just trying to make sense of things, my life (mainly), how I got here, what presses the buttons, how I can avoid the usual pitfalls... and trying to work out what to do next.

What is your first name? Julie

Age: 22

Location: France

Hobbies and Interests: I'm interested in psychology, especially psycopathology. I also like reading about ASD, and once in a while I enjoy learning a new language (recently it's been russian), but I never get fluent in it because I lose interest too quickly :?

Why are you here? I think I might be on the autism spectrum, but I have a lot of doubts so I want to read about other's experiences before I decide whether I should seek an official diagnosis or not.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I have been diagnosed with social anxiety two years ago. However, I believe that I developped it because I was so bad at social interactions that it actually "helped" me to behave in a more socially acceptable way, but it brought me a lot of anxiety.

Favorite subjects: psychopathology, ASD, languages, music.

Favorite music: rock music, new wave, electronica... The Kinks and Gary Numan are my favorites.

Books: I don't read a lot of fiction, but I liked Sherlock Holmes.

TV shows/Movies: Star Trek (TOS and TNG, I didn't watch the other series), the Monty Pythons, Terry Gilliam's movies. Currently, I'm watching Kaamelott, a humoristic french show.

Instrument: bass guitar

Do you like sports? NO.

Family: 2 sisters, one of them thinks she might be autistic too. A mother, and more or less 10 uncles/aunts with the double of cousins... That's too big of a family for someone who has a bad memory for faces (me).

Clothing: as long as it is comfortable, I'm ok with it.

How did you find this website? Google I believe.

Job: I work in a library

Plans for the future? Become a psychologist
