Hi, I'm new and wanted to introduce myself.

I am twenty-six years old, and currently living in Melbourne (Victoria, Australia). I adore horses, writing, and watching sitcoms. I have PTSD and OCD (diagnosed).

AS was suggested by a Psychiatrist who saw me briefly. I haven't been formally diagnosed yet, as this is an expensive process for adults where I live, but feel sure AS is correct. It is a relief to finally have an explanation.

I am here to learn more about AS, and hopefully find likeminded people.

Hi new person.

I'm a nuerotypical parent of a 15yr old girl with ASD and I also live in Melbourne Australia.

Do you plan to get a diagnosis? I'm sure you will get to know plenty of others in your shoes

Welcome aboard

You live in Melbourne and you call that living?

I'm a cockroach from Sydney.
Send my regards to Dan. ;)

Welcome to WP!

I've only been here a few months but it appears to me that the natives are nice!

And I got the (mild) autism diagnosis when I was 64. It was a source of happiness because I suddenly understood so much more than before. As near as I can make out from the Internet, we are in good company (and I don't mean just WP)...I hope you have searched on the Internet for "famous aspies".

Hi cyberdad, I plan to get a diagnosis when I'm able to afford it. Thanks for welcoming me!

Welcome aboard.

I must say though, I always assumed death metal was more aligned with a frog's vocal range.

Haha! I've been to Sydney once - I remember it was really hot that week. I went inside the Opera House, which was had good air-conditioning. It was pretty cool, and I enjoyed walking around The Rocks. Thanks for the link, about to give it a read. :D

Hi, thanks for welcoming me! I feel a lot more able to forgive myself for not fitting in, and for struggling with a lot of things. We are definitely in good company! :D

Welcome to Wrong Planet. I never been to Australia but always wanted to go there. Just its geographical location is so fascinating. Although my number one fascinating location is New Zeland, number two is Australia. I never been in either place.

And no I am not talking about culture. I am talking about landscape. How does it look over there? Is it as magical as I imagine?

By the way, have you ever been anywhere outside Australia/ New Zeland? Do you see Northern hemisphere in the same magical light as I see Australia?

Don't get hung up on spending money on a formal diagnosis. My employer paid for mine but there's no way I would've spent hundreds otherwise. If you can identify with the diagnostic criteria then that's good enough. A piece of paper isn't necessary in order for you to be aware of your differences.
Oh, and welcome by the way

It's very beautiful, especially further away from the cities. There are beaches, rainforests and open plains. I appreciate Australia's diversity.

I've been to New Zealand before and enjoyed Rotorua a lot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18TfLR-0MAI).

I've been to see family in Canada, and also been to Northern Ireland for a Uni exchange. I definitely see the Northern Hemisphere in a magical light - I'd love to explore more. :D
