I'll keep this brief, my name is Rocky, 30yo cis woman, and I was diagnosed with Asperger's at age 10.

Unfortunately, by the time I was 18 the diagnosis was removed, as I was told that I don't "present" like an Aspie. (I'm just very good at masking.)

I have a laundry list of diagnoses but I have identified with my autism for many years and don't feel like letting that go! :lol:

I have been entirely off the grid for 7 years now - I have not talked to a high school classmate probably since I was 20 years old. I don't have Facebook or Instagram, but I did set up a tumblr (a bookblr) this morning. Now I am trying to put myself out there and hope against hope that I don't run into a bully/troll.

If left to my devices, I would be under a rock forever. I'm forcing myself to do this because life is empty without socialization.

I'll mention this is the only social website I use (no Facebook, etc.) and I find the tone here very comfortable. If you find a discussion is getting unpleasant please do not leave the planet, just leave that thread!

I decided not to get an official diagnosis. I later found out from someone with mental health issues that the services Connecticut offers disappear when people turn 18.

Hope you get the socialization you seek!
