Hi Ariflower,
BEAUTIFUL name by the way. I can relate to you somewhat. I too am new to this site. I'm 41 yrs. old/young/depends on what day you ask me. I was diagnosed six yrs. ago at the age of 35, so I feel ya there. As a child, I had lots of imaginary friends and, thanks to my vivid and creative imagination, I could create whole imaginary towns teeming with activity and people and keep at it for long periods of time. Haven't read all the Harry Potter books yet, but when I read the first one 2-3 yrs. ago my imagination was so vivid I could darn near swear I was in the room w/ Harry et al. witnessing the events described as they unfolded. I did a little bit of acting in college and recieved a lot of compliments. I am a PT student and I have rarely ever fit in in the neurotypical world. I was dignosed w/ AS, but I also have problems w/ anxiety, depression, anger, ADD, strong OCD affect, amongst other things. The stories I can tell! Dating? Sex life? What are those? I don't like certain kinds of affection either and I definately need long periods of time alone. I have a few friends plus a new one developing who seems to appreciate my quirks/nutiness- a rare and valuable friend indeed. So--welcome! To us, you're perfectly normal. Besides, conformity is for those who aren't equipped to handle the beauty of wierdness- poor souls.
