I am new. This is my 1st blog anywhere. I didn't know I had autism until I was 26. I first heard the word aspergers at 32. I am living in Northern Virginia, was born in Washington D.C. Life is not treating me good right now. A lot of other people, many of them, I mean a lot, are not happy at this time either. I try so hard to get in life what I want but nothing happens. But I hope the world will be a little better tomorrow.

Thanks for the welcomes. I have a real range of emotions, from happy and laughing, to angry. I laugh when I'm by myself because of thinking of funny memories; when someone laughs loud because of no apparent reason it is that person's thoughts. Now, some more things about me that hadn't shown up with my information: my hobbies are watching and following baseball and football and also hard rock and roll, like KISS or Led Zeppelin. My other favorites are Genesis (with Phil Collins) and Peter Gabriel. I like "New Genesis" better than "old Genesis" but I do understand people who prefer "old Genesis" and that is no problem with me.

I have to add something again. I don't drive a car. I don't own one, and I don't care about taking any chances driving one in Northern Virginia. If I drove one, a lot of other drivers would hate me, probably every one here. On second thought, not every one because there are so many. Anyway, with me not being a driver, the traffic is horrible. I was born in 1969, and my parents took me home to Northern Virgina. I have been here ever since then, except sometimes going away to schools. And here's my point: Northern Virginia is changing more than ever before. In my view, it is crowded, and I can't understand certain things they do up here.

I have never had a girlfriend. I look at the gloomy side of things. Even Girls have told me before "You don't want a girlfriend". I always consider that comment. There was this woman earlier this year who worked at the bank I worked by. She was from the middle east and she just graduated from George Mason university in December 2008. I don't want to say her name but she was adorable, very pretty. I would suspect her smile at me said she liked me too. Anyway, it was more than just bank hospitality. I really liked her and i thought I had it made. Then, her family chooses to move back to Dubai, where they are from, and I said one last goodbye to her, on March 6. I was devastated but I guess I am back to normal now. To the woman I loved who worked at the bank: if you ever see this, I still think about you a lot and you are my friend still, you are always in my heart. I'll always remember you and you are a special person.

I am not really a big basketball fan; I like college basketball better than NBA. On 3/9/03 on TV, Shaquille O'Neal was interviewed by Mike Tirico. The Lakers were going to the playoffs again. Tirico asked O'Neal "what team are you most worried about going into the playoffs?" O'Neal answered " The team I am most worried about going into the playoffs is MY OWN."

In 1983, I kept hearing "Back on the Chain Gang" by the Pretenders on the radio. But I thought Chrissie Hynde kept singing "Back on the Train". So that's what I thought the song was called, "Back on the Train".

Welcome to WP. Sorry to hear about your missed opportunity with the woman from Dubai. At age 40+ I've had a total of seven relationships if I count very generously. I've spent most of my adult life avoiding driving a car, and though I own one now, I barely manage 100 miles per month.

Life will get better. You can count on the laws or probability to ensure change, surprises, challenges, and fun, plus lots more.

And you're the first person I've come across in many years who was also born in Washington D.C.

I live in Northern Virginia. I do an awful lot of walking since I have no car. Never before have I seen so much trash alongside the roads. And that's not the only place I see trash not in trash cans. I just walked along a trail just now, and there is still trash along this trail. I feel like I have to pick up trash sometimes, so I do that. I just stress that it bothers me why people can't throw trash into trash cans. There are trash cans around, maybe there should be more trash cans.
I also stress to people that if something is to be thrown away, and there is some way that this object can be used again in some way, then it is best not to throw the object away. And there are many ways "trash" can be used again. As people might figure by reading this, I'm an environmentalist. It just bothers me that I'm seeing all this trash, but it also would hurt me if I told people directly what to do, because I am not the kind to tell people what to do.
