Hi everybody.

This is my first post, and my greeting to all of you.
For starters, I'm 28, female, autistic and artistic. I'm fairly high-functioning and currently trying to work around some social difficulties I'm having (par for our course, I'd say). I'm divorced with 2 children. I can drive, and I can probably live independently, though it would be really difficult. I'm going to need to try though. Well, sort of, since I do have young children. I'm located in Missouri right now, but will be relocating back to NJ (jurisdiction stuff with the divorce... abusive husband, and I don't have hard evidence of the abuse which sucks. there are some ironies with it all. Very long depressing story).

Ok, so I'm artistic. I do acrylic and oil pastel and I do hyper-realistic paintings. My favorite subjects are gaming, martial arts, law and almost any of the sciences. I also want to disassemble my car and put it back together. That would take a bit more physical strength than I currently have.

Co-morbids.... that would be my depression, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder. Frankly, it's a deadly combination for me, so I'm on lexapro. I'm working through some stuff, let's just put it that way.

I LOVE rpg's! I just started Neverwinter, and I also love Skyrim (more action than RPG, but oh well).

Sensory difficulties: Flashing lights. The arrangement and type of flashing on emergency vehicles can throw me off at times. Light bulbs that are flickering drive me to absolute distraction and I start feeling sick and panicky. I can't tolerate the feel of nylon or rub my fingertips along most types of surfaces directly (human skin and hair is lovely though). Small popping sounds distract me by making me laugh really hard. I can't get enough of bubble wrap. I had a whole roll of pink bubble wrap, but I don't know where it went....

But yeah, that's me. :) so hiiii!

Edit: it was my therapist who said I have it, but I haven't taken the evaluation for it yet, and some other people (like RN's) have pointed it out when they can get my attention.

I'm new as well. Long time ago I was in an abusive relationship too, but once you got rid of the guy it gets better soon... Good luck with everything!

Good morning, and thank you for the encouragement! While my misery does indeed love company, I wish for your sakes that I was the only one here who had gone through this sort of thing. I'm sorry for your experiences, and I am very glad you two seem to be doing better.

Have you played Dragons Dogma? you simply must, very underrated, was nearly going to boycott the game as I'm not fond of Crapcom these days

Goodness, I thought I was the only one mad enough to do that!
At the moment Iam putting the following car back together that I got back from the paint shop last November, every single nut and bolt!
And whilst Iam now waiting for my back to get better so I can do some more, Iam playing Skyrim!

Hi all!! !

I wish I knew who Halebop was...

Nambo, you certainly are not the only one mad enough to do that, nor the only one who enjoys madness. And Skyrim is absolutely amazing. I'm playing League of Legends currently though.
