Hello there. I first want to say that it's wonderful to see so many people with aspergers together in one place, and having browsed around the site I can tell that this is a friendly place.
I'm a 20 year old from Bristol in England. (This is me in the photo <<). I've joined this forum because I am the only person that I know that acts like I do. I found out several months ago that I have many of the traits that are found in people with aspergers, but I have not been diagnosed (Are there benefits to being diagnosed besides 'being sure you have it'?).

I've been told throughout my life more times than I can count "You're weird", but people who know me better state "You think like no-one else in the world", which I usually take positively.
I live with five of my friends, so I consider myself very lucky, sometimes I get lonely but I like to spend a lot of time on my own anyway.
The reason I live with five other people is because I met them at university, where I was studying artificial intelligence. I didn't really adapt to university very well, so I dropped out. I do very well on IQ tests, but a lot of the time I feel stupid, which I think just shows I am adapted to answering questions in the format "Which shape is next in the sequence", but not "How can you organise your time effectively". Unfortunately I will have to move home to my mum's if I can't get a job so I can continue to live here.

Things I like:

Lucid dreaming,
Electronic Music,
Other music,
Keeping journals/notebooks,
Nature documentaries,
Using Photoshop,
Neuro-linguistic programming,
The form and function of the brain, (particularly autism, synaethesia)
Wikipedia 'binges',
Computers,
Sci-fi,
Terry Prattchett,

I feel like I've exposed all I can.

:) Thankyou. It is the peep hole from a door.

That's something I forgot to type. I keep a photo journal too.

Ian, Welcome,

I am in for lucid dreaming, yours is the first mention I have noticed.

I also keep notebooks, a form of idea storage that no other medium works as well for.

As for people without a computer and Photoshop, why?

There is some AI going around, mostly kept hidden for obvious reasons.

I hope you can take the shock of most everyone hear thinking just like you.

Our talents vary, but we all have enough of the same to be a tribe.

I like computers because understanding how they work can be very rewarding. Being able to ellicit the response you want quickly is quite satisfing. It's like how well you understand the system is related to how well you can get what you want out of it, and computers can perform very versatile tasks.

As for photoshop, I'm a really visual person, I think that's the same for a lot of the people here. Photoshop is a professional image-editing and graphics creation software. Knowing how to use it well means you can use it make/create a wide variety of images or edit photos in interesting ways.
I can't draw too well but you don't need such good coordination to use photoshop. I've had a look through the arts forum and there's lots of photoshop stuff there. cool.

I've got the latest National Geographic. Do you have it?

They have a great section on the death of stars. The photos in there are as awesome as always. :D

When they do something unexpected, you can usually find out why, unlike people.

Welcome. Feel free to debug our lateral thoughts. Have fun!

Hi Ian!

One of my all time rockers is an Ian, he is an elderly and slightly mad Scots with a mean spirited flute.

I too have studied NLP. I am not perceptive enough to do well, but I have gotten some persnal use from it.
