So are you saying you are feeling like you described because of something that happened in the chatroom?

Personally, I can't quite get the hang of chatrooms.
I like hanging out on the forums just fine.

I take it by your posting here that you are feeling a bit better?
Hope so anyway. :D

No need to be intimidated. Just imagine us all naked. 'They' say this imagery approach works for lecturers, for instance.

You should definitely quit using the chat if it's making you feel like that. I can understand feeling like that, which is why I don't even try chatrooms anymore. I thought trying to use them would help me with talking to people, but always ending up crying about it just wasn't worth it to me.

It's now day 3 of this, I missed 3 days of work b/c of that chatroom all I get is people saying " SPEAK" like there treating me like a dog... I get enough of that at my work and at home and outside in the realworld but i don't want it here!

so you should really quit it. just discuss with us here on the forum. chatroom is really a waste of time. all most aspies want is a change of information and on forums it's on slower comfortable pace. i used to be online on many messengers, but recently i stopped using the last one of them. people just kept bothering me with pointless discussions about how i am and how they are, and i don't even know how to define how i am :)

If the chat is not for you, it might be worth just sticking to the fora.

If you do want to give the chat another try, I can PM you some other channels that tend to be a little less intimidating than the main WP channel.

As everyone has said here...quit using the chatroom.
I personally prefer the forums as I don't have to rush my response.

If you feel scared about the chatroom then there is no point in using it.

I think I understand what you are feeling, Brad. I personally feel that there is a large percentage of misdiagnosed personalities who have very different challenges to AS on this site. It therefore makes it even more difficult for AS to interact than in the real world. I'm not sure how that can be resolved on a public forum, other than to suggest that you find one or two friends on here that you feel safe with and talk to them privately.

I never bother with the IRC chatroom itself here.

I've never done a chat room. What goes on there? It seems people come out traumatized.
