I'd post a picture but I just can't stand to look at myself now.

I can't stand to look at myself at all, which is why there will never be a picture of me revealed.

Evening, ladies and gents!

what's that small metal clip across your tie for? is it to keep the narrow other end from slipping out from behind it?

for that, i always just threaded it through the loop in the back and called it a day. (yes, it's been a while since i've worn a tie )

I believe it's a tie clip.

yeh, that's what it looks like.

apparently it's used to.....grip the tie onto the shirt, so it doesn't go flying and flopping around.

very useful. still wouldn't go near a shredder with it, though.

I would, but this particular tie was involved when I first started learning how to tie a proper tie knot, and as such has been beaten to the point that it no longer has that loop. whoops.

Quite right. I mostly wear it for style, though it comes in handy at lunchtime since our office lunch chairs are kind of low.

We have a lockable garbage bin for sensitive documents, so I'm safe from belligerent shredders. :)

What sort of job do you have that requires you to be around all these sensitive documents?

I could charitably be called an archivist in the bureaucratic machinery that surrounds hospitals and medical clinics. I sometimes handle things like copies of medical journals and other documents with people's personal details. The kind of sensitive documents that pretty much no one gets excited about, but per protocol is to be destroyed when no longer needed.

Well I didn't think you were a secret agent. I usually only use the shredder bin when I don't want them to know I overused the printer
