i agree with the idea of a thread sharing a special interest or doing performances of some kind. spongy read some poetry in Spanish in another thread, and it was seriously so awesome to hear!

A similar video to the one in the other thread was posted at this one 2 pages ago. And btw I´m glad you liked it.

@bethie:
I think that the idea of making a thread sharing videos of special interests could work quite well. As for the skin comment Ive mentioned it several times so she should be getting used to it.

sorry, i got the threads mixed up spongy so i didn't remember that you had the video in this thread. and thanks for the compliment too!

Its ok, I just wanted to point that out in case a member was interested on seeing the video you mentioned(its high unlikely but a guy can dream  ).

Back on topic I´ll probably upload a new one later that wont involve poetry if my sister decides to go out(right now she is nex door and I dont want her to start asking any questions )

thank you! not at all weird. i am pale as i have a sun allergy (sounds weird but very common) so i can't go out in the sun without serious sunblock. but the flip side is that i start to get really rashy over the summer.

Is it a strain of vampirism?

no, it's called Polymorphous Light Eruption (PMLE) and it affects 10 to 15% of the population. it's not rare or anything.

Yeah, that was parents! Thanks!

I liked your video and your Canadian accent. I think your video was the first time I really heard an actual Canadian accent. And Bethie is right, you do have beautiful skin.

That is really cool. I couldn't do that if I tried. I can't even draw a straight line, though I'm pretty good with the soldering pencil on a circuit board. :)

I can't agree more. You seem like you are all a very loving family.

The sync is off, too.
A pretty epic fail

I liked your video as well. You sounded very sweet, and you speak so well. Such beautiful eyes, too.

I will be posting a video, eventually. I'm so embarrassed to record a video of me speaking directly to an audience, so I'll have to figure out a way to speak to an audience indirectly, such as an instructional video of some sort, explaining some obscure thing about some electronic equipment.

This is a video about snakes(that i made for a snake video contest), but i'm in it talking(with three of my snakes). I think my voice sounds weird when i hear it on video.. This is even after scripting exactly what to say and redoing some parts over again.

I somehow completely missed the videos by hyperlexian and Bethie.

hyperlexian- you appear as kind and soft spoken as you do in your posts. I was happy to see you posting again after dealing with your family situation. I don't post very much, but I do observe quite incessantly.

Bethie- I was expecting a heavy southern drawl, but I was obviously wrong. Maybe sometime we will see a video of you with a faster frame rate 8). I like your idea about special interest videos.

ColdBlooded- Those snakes are absolutely beautiful!! I'm only startled by them when I'm not expecting to see them, lol.

Everyone is pretty courageous to make these videos. I have a YouTube channel with videos on it, but the ones where I talk are basically instructional. I cannot stand to hear myself talk. Every time I listen I feel ashamed and embarrassed. I did not realize how much I slur my words, incessantly state redundancies, and just plain sound like a fool. It is as if I cannot process my thoughts into speech correctly. I believe that is why I write/type substantially better than speaking.

Well, it's finally time. Here is a video of myself recorded on an iphone talking to my friends. Reason why it has a funny aspect ratio is because I was holding the iphone upright instead of sideways. It's a good example of how I socialize with my close friends. I still think I sound kind of funny.

you sound great! you seem so comfortable and easygoing with your friends too. what is your ethnic background, if you don't mind me asking?

love your snakes! great job on educating people about them. i liked in a place that had a rattlesnake crossing sign on the roadside because the snakes had breeding grounds by the highway. we all feel like we sound weird, but you sound quite pleasant to me.

thanks so much. that's cool i seem that way! i didn't think that i would come across as soft-spoken on video, but logically it makes sense as i really don't raise my voice in anger or frustration IRL (not even in 5 years as a teacher, though i have said some bad words to my husband occasionally . he might not think i'm very kind sometimes ).

You sound so nice! :)

I noticed you do that thing when talking, of looking away and screwing up your eyes and scratching at your head. I rub my head, instead of scratching it, but it's the same.

Is that "stimming" or just something we do when concentrating or overwhelmed? :?:

Thank you as well. :) I think my eyes were moving around because I was focusing on different people. I was scratching my nose and head because I was a little nervous.

you don't seem too nervous to me, though it's hard to say because i don't know you that well. are they really familiar friends?

I was only slightly nervous because I was being recorded. Those friends are very familiar, I see them at least once a day 4 to 5 days a week, usually. That was at a bar who my one friend owns, he was the one I was talking about youtube. It's a quiet corner bar, where everyone knows my name. :)

Also, I have another video of me trying to get the secret to getting women from my friend Billy, who I call "Bingo". He refuses to give up his secret.
