i didn't notice any non-awkward videos from you. perhaps you should post yours here for us to critique? while you're at it, you might want to post some photographs of yourself in the pictures thread so we can rate how good looking you are.

Am I wrong in thinking that posting a picture or video on a forum is an invitation for comments on said photo or video? C'mon now. Also, I'm on this forum for information mostly, so there isn't really reason for me to post a picture of myself yet. Who would care about my photo here? I don't know anyone.

if you are on WP for information, that's great. i don't see how criticising people is informative for you, though. so i doubt that's why you are doing it.

posting a photo is a way of sharing a part of ourselves, and if people want to make neutral or positive comments, i think most people would welcome it. but negative or critical comments are not welcome. the people who post are making themselves vulnerable by posting and you are taking advantage of that. since you are not even willing to open yourself to the same kind of comments or criticism, then perhaps you might want to refrain from doing it.

Maybe in ten years when I'm famous, but right now, no siree...

That's the reason I signed up.

I posted this in the 'Post a picture of the real you' thread:

"I don't usually point out my subjective opinion of these people on forums as that can be offensive" - when referring to average or ugly looking people. If you're referring to what I said about AnonymousAnonymous's photos in general you'll notice that I made no comment of my opinion on his physical attractiveness whether that be good or bad. I was commenting on how his pictures seemed inappropriate and I'm entitled to my opinion. You'll also notice that I haven't referred to him in any other thread so it's not like I'm bullying him or being abusive. I simply said what was on my mind at the time in that thread.

Really? I've commented on a members general posting style (AnonymousAnonymous), complimented AnnaSuzanna and gave some feedback on Hale_Bopps video. I don't really see that as me taking advantage of anything. Hale_Bopp is hardly going to get upset at someone saying she seems awkward in one of her Youtube videos considering she is aware she has Asperger's Syndrome. Also, if she's more awkward in one video than another, that says something good about the other videos I referred to. It's not like I was attacking her entire upload collection.



Actually, I'm really not bothered about what people think of my physical appearance - on this forum at least. Maybe that will change if I ever become a regular and feel any attachment to any members. I doubt I'll be around that long though. My reason for not posting my picture is because if someone whom I know in real life ever came to this forum, I wouldn't really want them to see that I had been here.

if you don't care what people think of how you look, then it would not be a problem for you to post a pic for us to rate. or even a video. or both.

you insulted AA, implied hale_bopp is a lesbian, rated someone's appearance, and insulted someone's close-up picture. all of that in 65 posts, even. i wonder at your motives.

I just thought it was weird how he would post an unflattering photo like that. Everyone can have a good photo, good or bad looking.

Asked her if she is a lesbian - what's wrong with that? It's called getting to know someone or data mining or whatever you want to think of it as.



A high rating, yes. You said yourself you like to see people give out compliments - what's your problem with this?



It wasn't really an insult, I was just pointing out something obvious that applies to everyone. His photo just happened to be an example.

you can argue you are disingenuous with those posts you have made, but it doesn't work on me. i may be an aspie but i'm not that naive.

you have managed to offend multiple people in a short span of time, and a number of members have already questioned you on your posts. you've said you behaved like this on other forums, and i think that people here made it clear it's not cool on WP.

you can proceed with your usual protestations and excuses if you like. it's really just blather.

Not really. The two members you say I have offended haven't even said anything about that. I doubt they care about a random person on a forum. And even if they did, what I said wasn't anything to write home about anyway. You're blowing what I have said out of proportion.



I said that it's a normal thing on other forums for members to assign personal value to other members. How is that wrong?



The only person I seem to have to give 'usual protestations' to is yourself. You can't really complain.
