Why are you here? I've never been officially diagnosed with Aspergers, but it makes perfect sense given my life story thus far.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): See previous.

Favorite subjects: I like them all! Though I do get frustrated with Economics. Overall, I generally spend more time and effort in math and science, but that doesn't mean I throw Social Studies and Language studies out the window either.

Year/Grade: Senior

Favorite music: Anything that is enjoyable on one or more levels, be it the lyrics, beat, rhythm, melody, etc.

Books: Plenty of academic textbooks, Harry Potter (the first five; the last two were... subpar...)

TV shows/Movies: Don't watch TV. Movies: Anything with the archetype of a criminal who overall is a good person (or group with the same characteristics), and in fact fights far more for the right than the "honest folk." Movies like Serenity come to mind.

Instrument: Piano. Vocals.

Do you like sports? Climbing. Used to inline-skate a lot, but then I got to high school :(

Family: Mom, Dad, two brothers, and one dog

Clothing: whatever is comfortable. I can't stand uniforms. Wearing them once a week nearly kills me (I'm in JROTC).

How did you find this website? Found it when researching Aspergers as a possible explanation for my... differences.

Job: Student/Slave (Studying is student and dying put together, you know).

Plans for the future? Assuming I can afford it, college. If not, then I'll just start working and teach myself. There is no real reason for me to attend college outside of getting a pretty piece of paper that acts as an "official" voice stating that I know my subject.

Any comments? WP appears to be a breath of fresh air.

What is your first name? Matthew

Age: 23

Location: Murfreesboro, TN

Hobbies and Interests: Well, art is a big one. I really enjoy drawing, most of the time, mostly comics and illustrations, as well as landscapes and portraits sometimes. I also write a little bit (although I haven't in a while) and make books. (As in book-binding, and such) I also like studying languages (I'm learning Arabic right now) and reading, although I don't think I do nearly enough of that.

Why are you here? I'm not really sure. Maybe just to talk to other people like myself, I think... I feel very frustrated most of the time because I am the only person I know that I am close to that has AS and, even though they understand what is wrong with me, they can't imagine what it's like to see the world the way I do, and thus understand why I feel so out of it, confused, or disconnected.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I have never been formally diagnosed, although at 13, a therapist I was required to see after getting into a fight with a student in my junior high said that it was "very likely" that I had AS. That's the closest I've ever had to a diagnosis.

Favorite subjects: Art, Physics and Astronomy, History, Creative Writing

Year/Grade: 5th year college student

Favorite music: Where to start! I've grown up in a household where listening to music of any kind was the norm, so my listening tastes have covered everything from classic rock'n'roll to classical music (I really like minuets), from heavy metal to the blues, from country to early rap. Right now, I've been listening to a lot of Lebanese and Egyptian pop and dance music. My tastes are subject to change without notice!

Books: Favorite of all time is easily "The Neverending Story" by Michael Ende. I have read and I own more books than I could realistically try to list.

TV shows/Movies: I barely watch TV anymore! I mostly have been watching shows on DVD... Lost, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, massive amounts of anime. My favorite movie of all time is easily "What Dreams May Come" however.

Instrument: The guitar, which I used to know how to play a little off, ages ago.

Do you like sports? Not really, although I have a soft spot for hockey. I get worked up over it every time.

Family: I have two parents and a younger sister, all of whom I still live with.

Clothing: This is a really weird one for me... I actually wear a lot of things that are "designed" for girls, like jeans and shirts. I'm so thin that a lot of men's sizes don't fit me comfortably, so I wind up buying some of my clothes from the Juniors section. Plus, I like how girls' clothing looks on me, anyway: its much more fun than young men's clothes!

How did you find this website? I googled "Asperger's syndrome forum" and got a link to here.

Job: Currently, I work as a lab assistant in one of the library computer labs at my university. I also work as a teacher's assistant in the art department, a few hours a week.

Plans for the future? I eventually plan on becoming a teacher, as well as publishing my art. I'm not really sure how successful I'll be at either, though.

First name: My nickname is Casey, so I'll just go by that for now. (I'm female, BTW - although a bit non-traditional.)

Age: 30

Location: Wisconsin

Hobbies and Interests: Mostly music, mythology and folklore, hiking and working out. I mentioned in the social forum that I'm into punk rock. I am planning to start lifting weights again next week.

Why are you here? To learn more about Asperger's Syndrome, mostly.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): This November.

Favorite subjects: Hmmm.... literature in translation, math, most sciences, urban planning.

Year/Grade: I have a master's degree.

Favorite music: Mostly various genres of punk and "alternative" rock, with some metal too.

Books: I like reading non-fiction about many different topics... from urban falcons to ship-building.

TV shows/Movies: Lately, I've been watching more anime.

Instrument: I own an electric guitar and amp, and used to be in a band a long time ago.

Do you like sports? Sort of. I'm not into watching football on TV, but I like doing non-team-based sports IRL.

Family: My family lives in a different city; I see them every couple months.

Clothing: The Midwest isn't exactly fashion heaven. I do a lot of thrift shopping because secondhand clothes look better on me than most of what's in style right now. My favorite colors are black, blue and gray. I also like novelty stuff, and own a Hello Kitty change purse and a vegan wallet made out of a bike tire. I really want one of those purses made out of bent license plates, but I can't afford one.

How did you find this website? Someone told me about it. I forget who...

Job: I'm a writer, mostly.

Plans for the future? My main goal is to become a *lot* more physically active than I was during grad school.
