And here it is! My 1000th post. I wanted to make sure to post it here in the Dino-Cafe as you were all who encouraged me to start in the first place, mostly Bobbie (Nannarob)
You have all become very important to me over the past year and I just wanted to say Thank You for welcoming me to this little group of understanding, intelligent, forthright, intriguing, humorous, and very human group of people here in the Cafe. :P

yeah, I don't want to grow up. It seems so boring and predictable to me.

Way to go, reika!! ! Happy 1,000 post!! !!

And I agree. "growing up" is boring. But I put i in qoutes because I've found that sometimes when someone tells me to grow up, I've just grown in a way they don't want.

thanks, Merle. I guess we don't really "grow up" as Aspies as some people think we should.

And thanks cc. I have no reason to believe my parents arecomplaining to him. My mom said that I was contributing, especially with paying a little more rent than my brother. She did say, though, that it would help to move into an appartment just to show that I can live on my own (I was in a dorm in college, but I think she wants to see thatI could manage to keep my head above water on my own). She did want me to move at one time, but said that changed when i started holding down my job, paying rent, and paying my own bills.

Anyhow I think you have good insight and will try to keep what you say in mind.

And lau, that is a very healthy way of dealing with life in my opinion. Thanks.

The Seattle Times is gathering people's favorite protest songs, which as always puts me in mind of my favorite protest song...

We are the Folk Song Army,
Every one of us cares,
We all hate Poverty, War, and Injustice -
Unlike the rest of you squares!
There are innocuous folk songs, yeah,
But we regard 'em with scorn,
The folks who sing 'em have no social conscience -
Why, they don't even care if Jimmy crack corn!

If you feel dissatisfaction,
Strum your frustrations away,
Some people may prefer action,
But gimme a folk song any old day!

The tune don't have to be clever,
And it don't matter if you put a couple of extra syllables into a line,
It sounds more ethnic if it ain't good English,
And it don't even gotta rhyme!
(Excuse me,
rhyne...)

Remember the war against Franco?
That's the kind where each of us belongs -
He may have won all the battles,
But we had all the good songs!

So join in the Folk Song Army,
Guitars are the weapons we bring
To the fight against Poverty, War, and Injustice -
Ready,
Aim,
SING!! !!
