Nan,

You're gonna save these baby bird pictures for him so you can show them to his first date and embarrass him aren't you! He's so cute :)

I know about the insurance program, and the waiting list is long. We were just over the income line prior to May, and now I'm not sure where we will be once he starts this new job. Gotta love making too much to take part in a program but not enough to pay almost as much as the mortgage for insurance. My kids are insured, and the hubby was through work, but we can't seem to afford just me.

*cautiously reaching for a muffin* Um, do they normally wink? 8O I think I'll skip it for now.

If you ever get up this way I will bake some muffins that will sinfully melt in your mouth :D
And if you like coffee, I'll make something special for you. Kona?
Yeah I really can cook and bake, it was an obsession for a while.
Actually SwampBlosson is the better baker in the house.
I don't tell her I really know how to cook, nope.
I'm not that foolish. (Shut it, the rest of you. Just scare her away, she's getting closer. Shhhh!!)
It's also pretty practical, which goes against my grain.
Mostly I try to avoid eating anyway, it just interupts things.

Yes blueberries always wink. Trust me.
Hold on gotta run, one of the blueberries is trying to run away.
It won't get far, I swat em.
This muffin makin' is dangerous work.
Ah damn the cat got it first. Oh well.

mmm Muffins and Kona :) Unfortunately I don't go too far from home either, not in several years now. I'd consider asking you to mail me a muffin, but the coffee would make an envelope drippy I think.

Is the cat ok? Did the "blueberry" win? Maybe I'll just settle for a peanut butter sammich. :)

The cat's name is Muffin Bandit. What do you think?
Ike, our English Mastiff fears her.
Would you like blueberry preserves on that sammich?
Fresh is best.

Your fingers crossed for Jumpin Joe Biden?
Damn I love that guy.
He'll rip em up and spit em out.
Love his sense of humor too.

well, Biden is good, but I am rootin' for that darker horse than some, Ol' Gilligan (her maiden name, no kiddin'!) Kathleen Sebelius. She, like myself, is a Kansas Sunflower and savvy in the way that women who have made it in a man's business is. . .

I have been watching her, following her movements and as Biden is still in the NorthEast SHE was on a plane to Iowa to do a Obama fund raiser and rally on Thursday. . . and that is a LOT closer to CHICAGO than the East Coast!

*Kathleen Sebelius (née Gilligan)(born May 15, 1948) is currently serving as the 44th Governor of Kansas. She is the second female governor of Kansas, the 2008 respondent to the State of the Union address and chair-emerita of the Democratic Governors Association.

Sebelius has endorsed Democratic candidate Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election. Sources indicate she is a strong contender for the Vice Presidential nomination in the 2008 campaign.

She looks good. I like her muck raking. I dunno though, I think Biden has the edge over her, in several areas. And I have no doubt she has a few up on him as well. I wouldn't be upset at all if she were chosen. Obama needs an attack dog badly. I've not heard her go after anyone before, so I can't really say. Either way, a slot for either would be a good move.

He has to win first and he's not doing very well at it. It should be a run away. It's not good that Hilary shows better in the polls then he does and she's not even stumping. I like the guy, but damn she blew her early campaign, badly.

I want a scraper in there and I know Joe can do it. Even if he doesn't I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him get a cabinet post.

NO! NO! I mean...

no thank you, I prefer it plain. Just put the lid back on the jar ok? Thanks :)

*whew*

I heard something about Caroline Kennedy as a possibility for VP, but who knows. I guess we'll find out a bit later in the morning. Wrote a letter to the editor earlier about McCain's out of touch views on the economy. He had to ask his staff how many houses he owned. lol

Oh excuse me, I need to ask my staff to remove those blueberry preserves, National Security, you understand. :P

well, at least Hillary is a fighter. Obama gets McCain just HANDING it to him ( Oh, 4. . 5 ? I will have my staff get back to you on how many houses CINDY has!) A kept man??
and Obama just soft peddles it.

Yeah I knew that, the story I read said something about her being a possibility too.

McCain give Obama ammo every time he opens his mouth.

One story in a local paper said the news was announced to them anonomously as they didn't want to overshadow Obama's news to his supporters in the morning. They couldn't wait a few hours?

I hope in a way they are all wrong and it's someone else, just to make them all look stupid, but then Biden will make a good VP.

Sigh...

Biden was born in my State and that's easy to look up. But what many wouldn't know is that small city (it was at that time) is hard coal country. His family wasn't any upper class. What that means is he went to school with miners kids. He only had to look around him to see the reminders of hard working people. No further than his own supper table. The slag heaps from the coal mines are still there and you can't miss them, they are that big. That was mostly tunnel work back then and damn dangerous.

It's bigger now, but you don't have to go very far to still see the real thing. I've worked more then one coal mine project around there and those people are the salt of the earth. They still know what it means when a tunnel goes down. They all know each other.

He's real people. No one handed him anything, he worked for it. I couldn't be happier for VP pick. Well it highly unlikely we'll see a real Socialist in the White House anytime soon, so I go with what I have to choose from. Throw the money changers out of the temple. And he's not so bad and I don't believe for an instant he has forgotten where he came from.

If this one plays out correctly, we actually might get a little closer to giving a damn about people. It would be a pleasant change of pace, for all of us.

Ok I'm done, kick the box out from under me and I only regret I have but one life to give for my Cafe.

Well hang on, no I mean don't hang me yet, I'll give any one a nickle if they can tell me the real State bird of Delaware, which is where he now lives.
I've worked there too and seen them along the sides of the highways.
Damn I looked it up and it really is the chicken, so no nickels, I'm not very wealthy. :?
Except they have a huge poultry farms there now and, well, sometimes they fall out of the trucks.
Like a lot. No, I really mean a lot. What can I say, we had a morbid sense of humor.
Kind of gives a new meaning to, eating road kill... not so bad if they're fresh. 8O

Controversial issues already popping up about Biden. His earlier criticism of Obama, his own failed presidential attempt, etc.

I hope they start talking up his strengths soon, would be nice to see it before McCain starts more of his negativity.

We absolutely need people in office who can relate to the lower and middle classes. That's what I like about Obama. His intelligence however scares people. I for one love his intelligence. I don't know when smart started to equal elite.

My daughter's fav Bush quote is "Even a "C" student can be president." I would like to think we've all learned that no, maybe that's not the case!

Some example to set for America's children.

.

remember this is being pointed out by the McCain campaign.

Biden applied for the job twice. He was selected for the back up for the prez because after the troops come home from Iraq (even Bush and Conde have approved the timetable!) he will be excellent for our dealings with democracy in Georgia (no, not THAT Georgia!) and Russia's Putin. (as you know, Biden was sent and just came back from there.)

He was going for the job the second time when he was making insightful comments on Obama's inexperience.

~sigh~ again, this died in the wool Dem pulls the handle for as good as they could come up with.
