Thank you for enjoying it... In all seriousness, however, I recommend looking at the rest of the series

[quote="Feralucce"]perhaps... it was written as a piece of satire. I have amended it to be clear that it is satire...

and no where did I state that the diagnostic criteria should be in every book. It was a comparative statement - what asperger's IS to what these books say it is[[quote]

Yes, got the satire, it is very evident in all the pieces and enjoyed! I think this one worried me due to other trends displayed roundabout, an 'us and them' perspective which I always feel leads to the striding about in big boots and the untimate invasion of Poland! Sorry if your piece got it in the neck for my concerns in this area, which are deepening. I am also fortunate in being a visual artist, and most of the people I have any contact with dont fit in any way with the concept of NT.

Also, your comment about it getting worse with time scared me - yes, I know I am a coward, but I need some ray of hope on the horizon!

I can only say that my Modus Operandi is far and away from the Us vs. Them crowd. Honestly... that is why I am writing the series...

This sums up my feelings on it quite succintly...>>>Travel<<< - a poem about autistic spectrum disorders.

HOWEVER... the part "Also, your comment about it getting worse with time scared me - yes, I know I am a coward, but I need some ray of hope on the horizon!" is one of the few part in that piece that was completely serious. Honestly, living as or with an Aspie is a difficult trip. BUT, I make the point throughout the series that with work, caring and understanding - a rewarding relationship and/or life is very possible.

On the flip side, I do not believe in sugar coating things. Those statements are in there to remind people that as easy as it CAN be at times, there is always... ALWAYS another outburst, downturn, tantrum, OCD spell or meltdown out there, waiting in the wings...

NOW that we have that out of the way... A relationship with an Autistic Spectrum individual can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. The appreciation and love that we are capable of throws the difficulties into a stark contrast... You will not find a more loyal friend, lover, child etc. - if you can work past the difficulties...

:lmao:
Ahhh good points and you never fail to amuse me.

I must admit every time someone expresses sorrow or pity or other negative reactions to learning that someone is autistic... I always kind of laugh or have to struggle really hard not to laugh (and this never fails to offend everyone in the room because they make an incorrect assumption as to what I am laughing at). Mostly because they probably don't understand the absolute ecstasy and happiness that a special interest brings, that they will never experience it or anything really probably close to it, and if they do it won't be on a long term on-going basis - yet they feel sorry for us.

I mean if I have to choose I'll choose happy over normal any day of the week.

Hi
:)
I joined this site to find out more, as three of my relatives (1 adult, 2 kids) have recently been diagnosed with aspergers, and I wanted to find somewhere where aspies talk about aspergers, rather than expert NT's talking about it.

Feralucce this series is brilliant, read them all since yesterday evening. I do hope you get it into print, I have already told other family members how good it is and to come and read it all. There feels like there is so much to learn, but these entries seem to cut things down to the nitty gritty and are a great place for someone to start learning about aspergers. You sound like an amazing fellow!

Thanks for your work.
xx

This... Literally, moved me to tears. Thank you, very much. That makes me fee good... especially since that is the point of the series.

I am glad that the experiences of my life... some horrific, some pleasant... are useful to others... As I have said before, if I can help one person, it is worth all the effort.

Please subscribe and spread the word.

Thank you for all of this and your great series, you are an amazing fellow! I have been raging against the dying of the light big time of late - is this scary or what? You are absolutely right not to sugar coat this. Keep it up!

I do not know if I am an amazing fellow...I am just me... As a matter of fact, I suspect I make a great many more mistakes than most others... The only outstanding trait (I believe) I posses is that I learn from my mistakes... but to counter that I discover ASTOUNDING ways to make new mistakes...

BUT I appreciate the comments. They help counter the hate mail I have gotten...
