I think she's a "come as you are" Disciple and if she isn't a Disciple, I'd follow her anyway.
Sand or no sand. There is just something special about a woman with an umbrella, don't you think?

(Yeah well, there were other Disciples as well, I was discrete. Sorta. Maybe. Kinda. Ok, I wasn't.)
I think they both are Discipling at the Burning Man.
Which is fine, as long as it isn't me.

I suppose she knows that moths have dined on her burqa since she's using umbrella sunblock. Or perhaps she's modeling this year's 'barely a burqa' swimwear while nobody's looking. Those radical "come as you are" sects with their Birthday Boy Burning Man Feasts probably have Lau laying low today.

This should bring him out of hiding:

(I think it's Port Isaac's Happy Birthday Song, but I could be mistaken. Similar to Fred Flintstone's Yabba Dabba Doo song, but without a brass section.)

I Googled "birthday present for distinguished English gentleman" and got:

I hope you like it Lau. 8O But it puts you back in hiding. Maybe you can use it to become a discreet Disciple.

Possibly the best bit of YouTube for the Port Isaac Fishermen Friends, a short while after I left:

Yes, they "popped up" the 261 miles to London's Royal Albert Hall for this. I missed out on my three minutes of fame, here.

Don't eat the Spam, Robyn. Or perhaps you already have. It was laced by someone very slick.

Note to Chick in the net burqua - Damn, honey, you gonna have a hell of a sunburn in places you'll wish you didn't!

Note to Postie - Nuh huh.

Note to self - Damn, Nan, fresh baked bread with sweet cream butter and a quart of fresh and very cold milk is just one of the better meals on the planet....

Is it time to get on the plane yet?

8O 8O Gas at the corner gas station is listed at $1.65 a gallon! I haven't seen prices that cheap since the kid was in elementary school. When we went to visit the trees this summer it was almost $5. a gallon. This is DEFINITELY getting weird.

Oh, and the punk skateboarding kid screaming-at-each-other-all-night neighbors are gone. They got forced out last week. (Sorry for them, thrilled for us.) So, no neighbors downstairs, no screaming neighbors across from the kid's bedroom, no dorky teen skateboarding at 10 at night under the window in the summer, no loud boomrap from the pickup truck driven by the guy who used to come visit skaterboy's sister, at all hours.... The people in the two units on the end of the building on the other side are gone now (top and bottom floors) so it's a lot quieter here, but kind of creepy. Gonna be unpleasant when they have to raise the HOA fees to cover what the vacant units aren't paying, but worth it for the quiet.

Now if "Cody" and his family would just leave - he's one of two little boys who goes out to play early and stays out very late (10, 11pm) and they "play" (translate that scream) under my bedroom windows for hours on end. Except that I think they're living in their grandmother's unit, to help her make ends meet. So "Cody" is going to be with us for the duration, I guess. Oh well, 3 outa 4 ain't bad. :)

I wonder where they will go.

Cody? Talk to Emma. She'll take care of that little problem. I don't suppose the sister lasted long. She looked to be less substantial than Cody.
