speaking of the really eerie....

The 1911 Irish census is now digitalized and online. For free (which is a surprise). Bigger surprise is looking at the graphic montage at the top of the page, there's someone looking back at me from like 100 years ago who is the spitting image of me when I was 16. It's really very, very unsettling. It literally could have been my photo. The kid was looking at the page and I got an "ummm, Mom? Did you see..." and then pointed at it.

I wonder if there's a way to find out who that girl was?

Your truly received a child support check from the state. No, really. Let's see, that would be going on 15 years late??? I guess the feds finally caught up with him. Interesting thing about child support in this state. It never expires - it just keeps accruing interest, at 10% per year, when unpaid. A lump-sum payment would allow me to pay off my second mortgage. Which would be nice.

But we're happy with the one-month payment, as as it means we can pay the vet bill that's coming up for the old cat now. But weird is not quite strong enough for this to fall out of the sky, really. Is an asteroid going to hit us next week or something, Merle? [cue twilight zone music]
