Something cool here at nights, thanks to our friends the luminescent nanoplankton. As the waves crash they flash a brilliant electric blue. The light moves down the curl of the wave as it breaks down the beach. It's really quite pretty.

I'll try to get down there with the camera and get some video. it's really cool, the blue lights up in one place and just races down the line as the wave crashes....

Sylkat, I'd like to go if that's o.k. even though one of my fears is dark water. I'd be the one wearing jeans, hat, glasses, and a long sleeved t-shirt.

Hi, Sinsboldly and Mntn13, what I meant by 'until we are caught' is that I'd like to be in a wide open 'for everybody' get acquanted cafe coffee house (though I actually drink tea), and it seems that management of the mall wants middle-agers and seniors in a geriatric room. I think I wanna stay here, so I like the idea of the Ex-cafe if they will let us stay, or until they move this restaraunt to the fogey's facility, too. By the way, I'm 61, and do use every senior discount I can get my hands on, but am getting hypersensitive about being parked anywhere. I very much appreciate the many special interest and age-oriented groups here, and plan to look into most of them, just want to play on the public beach with EVERYBODY for awhile, perhaps to enjoy the wide range of folks here. Sylkat :D

Crazycat started the original Dino Aspie Cafe as a place just FOR the over 40's that had little in common with the younger diagnosed crowd. So we SELF segregated so we could get to know others like us in a special way. Later the Cafe was moved to "In-Depth Adult Discussion" and Lau started the Dino Ex-Cafe back in the "Getting to know you" section so people just coming into WP could find their own.

So, no, we weren't relagated to the Cafe, we proudly built it, muffin upon muffin, kipper upon kipper. An we have a vast array of Tea, as well, so choose your pleasure and stay for as long as you like.

PS The Cafe has never been "pinned" to a Discussion heading. This means when the traffic here is high, the topic rises and when the traffic here is light, it sinks down and you have to look for it. But in all of it's incarnations the Cafe has been around since 2006. Woo-Hoo!

8O The cabana boy, Han, is hiding under the dishwashing unit in back since he IS an Aspie Cabana boy and ohhh,,,,, all the new people. Change.... is..... scary. I'll be hiding behind the herring pond that Lau and Crazycat built....

I am glad to see new people coming in here. For a while, I had quit visiting because there wasn't much going on.

I agree, Hartz. I had been staying away for the same reason but it was a shock to log in and see it suddenly busy. Sort of like when you expect a friend's house to be quiet but when you walk in they're throwing a party. :)

hey, guyz, i need a new computer. my current one is like 8 years old and just wheezing when trying to stream videos, etc. Has only 256 mg ram and an intel pentium 4 2.53 ghz processor. it's gotten so bad i am not really able to stream much at all anymore.

dell is having a sale on, but i'm so antique i don't know what to buy. desktop, not laptop, that much i know. i pretty much want something that will scream along as far as speed for videos and the occasional game, and surfing the net. anything else... eh, it's extra. i do have a lot of dvds i like to watch.

i also don't want to buy something that's way more firepower than i need - am trying to keep it to around $500. don't need a monitor, have one (assume my old one will continue to work?), don't need a printer, etc. just the computer itself.

any suggestions?

When I bought my new computer from Dell, I just called (after determining how I would pay for it) and a sales rep asked me questions about how I would use it. This way it came with the features that I needed, and not a lot of extra stuff. What I ended up getting, was the computer itself, with about 4 GB of RAM, a DVD/CD player, a keyboard, monitor and speakers.

Hi guyz. I ordered from Dell again. They gave me a university discount, and this thing should just scream along. Since all I needed was the tower (not monitor, etc.) delivered new it's coming in at just over $500 and has at least two decimal places more processing power than my old one. Who shall be fondly retired to use for old video games. New one should arrive in about 10 days.

Thanks!
