Looks like it all started around 3000 BCE, in ancient Mesopotamia, where the value of things like silver, bronze, and copper was defined in terms of shekels of barley. So I suppose you can blame it all on Babylon, although if they hadn't gotten there first, the Phoenicians probably would have followed on shortly.

What is '3000 BCE'?

3000 BCE is "before common era".... the new, non-denominational terminology that replaces AD & BC ....

Most of the bracelets are ugly, too. I mean, not the bracelet part, I find lots of pretty bracelet bits, but they still have to hook onto that big slab of metal. Need a smaller medic sign, but they don't seem to sell them, that would fit better into it being a bracelet.

Well, we are looking to close on the house purchase next week! Scary and exciting all at the same time, I must say. Two Aspies undertaking home ownership for the first time ever! :nerdy: 8)

Yes, it is! We drove by the house today and saw that the new roof is on. That was one of the things that was holding us up on the sale.

Thanks, Nan. Of course the stress is building. Aspies don't like change, you know! Even when we dearly wanted it. I have been feeling extreme anxiety as the closing date approaches. :bounce:
